About this role

Telexistence develops remote controlled robots with artificial intelligence, with the mission to change robots, change the structure, and change the world. Gathered by high expertise professionals from all over the world, the engineering team consistently develops robotic hardware, software and AI technology in-house. TX aims to expand the scope of robotics activities beyond the factory floor and transform the fundamental nature of labor society.
This role focuses on automation of custom made manipulators, and integrating other 3rd parties robots, aiming to automate logistics  operations without human intervention at a high success rate.
The focus will be in maintaining, improving and designing components of a complex automation system, that includes manipulators, mobile robots, cloud components and human interfaces; deployed in real world logistic warehouses  In addition, this role also focuses on implementing clean and scalable software architecture, using C++ and ROS2. Unlike other positions in the automation team, system integration engineers would be required to have broad knowledge across control, perception and software engineering, and its responsibility will be to “glue” components together, while also having some basic knowledge to optimize and improve performance of each other. Additionally, we would expect them to develop unique algorithms that combine both domain knowledge from motion and perception areas. Thus, we appreciate personnel interested in both motion and perception areas, as well as in software engineering. We strongly believe that our autonomous solution provides a great impact to the current and future market , and look forward to having more people agreeing and joining our team.

Responsibilities

- Develop real-time motion control software to control robot manipulators using Inverse Kinematics, collision avoidance, trajectory generation, time parameterization, and active compliance control algorithms

- Develop TX's custom-made robot control software, such as actuator driver integration and ROS framework integration

- Integrate the entire software components to make the robotic solution ready for enterprise-level production

Requirements

- Master's degree or above in a relevant field

- Expert in C++ software development on Linux/Ubuntu platform

- Expert in ROS2 framework and MoveIt Motion Planning. If we gave you URDF, you should be able to create a ROS environment with MoveIt to control the robot in the Gazebo environment from scratch

- Experience in developing software to control robot manipulator (e.g., UR series of Universal Robots)

- Hands-on experience with motor control and PID algorithms

- Knowledge of robotics control theory (Kinematics, Dynamics, Motion Planning, and Control)

- Passion to develop a product used in real operations (product mindset)

- Good communication skills and proactive collaboration

- Business level of English

Desired Skills

- Japanese language skill to communicate with internal/external stakeholders

- Experience in developing force/torque control software, such as compliance control

- Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and automated robotics software deployment

- Experience with CAN/CANopen, CiA 402, EtherCAT, or other industrial servo-control protocols

- Creative in solving issues; data-driven debugging and iteration

- Autonomous problem-solver: proactively identifies and breaks down issues, investigates logs/metrics, designs experiments, proposes options, and delivers fixes/features end-to-end with minimal oversight—while communicating progress and escalating when truly blocked

- Experience simulating robotic systems and their interactions with physics-based environments
