Job Description:
- Lead and manage the credit function across a cluster of branches for the Affordable Housing Finance business.
- Evaluate and approve/ recommend housing loan and LAP proposals in line with the organisation’s credit policy and delegated authority.
- Ensure robust assessment of customers across income, repayment capacity, banking behaviour, bureau history, collateral, and overall creditworthiness .
- Review complex and high-value cases and provide sound, data-driven credit decisions.
- Ensure adherence to credit policies, processes, regulatory guidelines, and risk parameters .
- Monitor portfolio quality across the cluster and identify early warning signals, deviations, and emerging credit risks.
- Work closely with Sales teams to balance business growth with portfolio quality and risk appetite .
- Conduct regular reviews of branch-level credit performance, approval rates, TAT, deviations, delinquency trends, and portfolio metrics.
- Guide and mentor the credit team , ensuring quality underwriting and consistent application of credit policies.
- Ensure effective management and closure of credit-related audit observations and process gaps.
- Collaborate with Risk, Operations, Legal, Collections, and other functions to resolve complex cases and strengthen portfolio quality.
- Analyse market, customer, and portfolio trends to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure appropriate documentation, controls, and compliance throughout the credit lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement in credit processes, turnaround time, and underwriting quality.
