About this role

Description

About the job

We're Clover Security.

We're building the future of product security. Our mission is to enable both humans and AI to build secure-by-design software, at scale, without slowing innovation.

We're backed by $36M from Team8, Notable Capital, and SVCI, and trusted by multiple Fortune 500 companies.

But funding and logos don't define us. People do.

Our About us page offers a real look at our culture, our values, and the people behind the product.

This is where you come in.

We're hiring an AI Researcher to join our Research team.

You'll get inside the "minds" of AI security agents: how they reason about code and use context. It's research meets applied AI: cutting-edge tech, fast iterations, and real customers relying on what you build to secure their software.

If your first reaction to "the model works" is "on what eval?", you get excited when an experiment disproves your hypothesis, and you can ship a POC at the speed of light - you might be our person.

Requirements

What You'll Do

Research

● Form hypotheses about agent behavior, design experiments, and iterate fast.

● Build research harnesses and dive deep into traces and failure modes.

● Publish original research and present it at industry conferences.

Applied AI

● Own AI projects from POC to production, serving real customers at scale.

● Design the algorithms, pipelines, and evaluations behind Clover's AI infrastructure, including memory and context.

● Keep our engine on the bleeding edge by monitoring new models and research.

What We're Looking For

● 3–5 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML research or applied AI.

● Deep understanding of LLMs and transformers: training, behavior, and debugging.

● Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents, agentic workflows, harnesses, context engineering, memory, and RAG systems.

● Strong foundations in statistics and data science. You know the difference between a real effect and a lucky seed.

● Ability to take an idea to a working POC and into production.

● MSc in a relevant field - a plus.

● Publications or conference talks - a plus.

● Security domain knowledge - a plus.

If this role excites you, even if you don't check every box, we'd love to hear from you.
