Job Description
The Engineering Technician will manage, inspect, maintain, and control tooling, format parts, and related engineering items supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
The role requires a combination of tool-room discipline, dimensional inspection, basic tool-and-die knowledge, engineering drawing interpretation, and proper storage and traceability of tooling and format parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate tooling records, inventory, issuance, return, inspection status, maintenance history, and traceability.
- Update relevant tool room and inventory transactions in SAP, as applicable.
- Prepare and maintain reports, trackers, inspection records, and technical documentation using Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a tool room, tooling workshop, engineering store, or similar technical environment.
- Experience in Tool Room or technical store management is preferred.
- Background in Tool & Die, machining, tooling, or precision mechanical components is highly desirable.
- Experience with format parts/change parts used in manufacturing or packaging equipment is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of dimensional and geometric inspection techniques.
- Able to read and interpret mechanical and tooling drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
- Familiar with the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with SAP is required, particularly for inventory, material, or tool-related transactions.
- Good Microsoft Office skills are required, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Good understanding of tooling storage, preservation, traceability, and inventory control.
- Pharmaceutical, food, FMCG, medical-device, or other regulated manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Good English communication and documentation skills.
