Purpose Summary
As a Product Owner, I am responsible for understanding customer needs and business objectives for my product(s) and for delivering a successful product through the effective leadership of the development team, ensuring delivery aligns with the Product Manager's roadmap. I produce software with excellent user experience and high customer satisfaction.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- I lead cross-functional product delivery, working closely with development, engineering and other internal teams to deliver high-quality products, features and releases that align with the product vision, roadmap, business objectives and identified market needs.
- I identify problems encountered by the customer, bringing cross-functional teams together and establishing working groups to deliver high quality products that meet customer needs and drive business growth.
- I collaborate with the Product Manager, UX team and other stakeholders.
- I manage scope to timescales and budget.
- I represent our users in all our digital product decisions.
- I collect, manage and prioritise product features and requirements from all stakeholders across the business and externally, according to business value.
- I define user journeys and translate identified needs into clear, prioritised product requirements.
- I maintain a concise, prioritised and clear backlog of User Stories and Bugs, balancing the needs of the business alongside technical debt, security and other priorities.
- I facilitate product demonstrations and other feedback activities to validate delivered functionality and inform future priorities, including organising ongoing sprint demo sessions to solicit and collect feedback from stakeholders.
- I produce testable User Stories meeting the definition of ready for the development team that deliver value within a single sprint and align with the solution objectives.
- I ensure well documented, testable non-functional requirements.
- I ensure requirements consider system configuration options and define appropriate defaults.
- I ensure requirements consider application security and align to the development process and regulatory/compliance guidelines.
- I can use Generative AI to help create User and Functional requirements, and I know when to leverage AI and when not to do so.
- The employee agrees to take over additional reasonable tasks that align with their abilities, if required.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in a related field, or equivalent and demonstrable experience as a Product Owner/Manager.
- Minimum 1 years' experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner or Product Manager.
- Experience using AI tools and Generative AI
- Experience working with pharmaceutical software, eTMFs, Pharmacovigilance and/or Regulatory Affairs tooling is preferred but not essential.
- English language fluency.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements
- I have experience performing requirements analysis and writing specification documents to deliver customer outcomes.
- I have experience delivering products using agile development methodology techniques, working directly with developers/technical teams.
- I have a data-driven focus and experience interpreting data and translating it into stories, using it to drive product strategy.
- I have a deep understanding of product-specific market personas and their challenges.
- I am strong across execution, highly analytical and data-driven, drive decisions, and create experiences that customers love.
- I have experience defining user journeys and stories and setting good quality story standards.
Technical skills:
- Requirements analysis (ideally including SaaS & Managed Service Products).
- Agile SCRUM.
- Use of JIRA.
- Ability to write BDD and understanding of Cucumber/Gherkin.
- Ability to derive and document non-functional requirements.
- Able to convey technical and non-technical ideas and concepts to varied audiences.
- Backlog management and refinement.
- Understanding of SDLC processes.
- Understanding of UX and product design.
- Self-motivated with a relentless drive and passion to make improvements and achieve results.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, economics, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Less than 2 years of experience in product management, product operations, business analysis, market research, project coordination, or a related field required.
Certification in product management, agile practices, or business analysis preferred.
