About the Role
AIA is looking for Cloud Infrastructure Specialist who will be responsible for leading the design, management, and continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure to deliver secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient technology platforms. The position provides technical leadership across cloud operations, platform modernization, security, and resilience, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, governance standards, and industry best practices. It also oversees cloud service performance, availability, compliance, disaster recovery readiness, and cost optimization while supporting business initiatives and operational requirements to enable stable and efficient business operations.
Key responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Plan, design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure services across production, UAT, and development environments, with primary focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Build and maintain cloud landing zones, network connectivity, identity integration and security controls.
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, and operational improvement for cloud resources including virtual machines, Kubernetes, storage, networking, databases, and security services.
- Maintain cloud environments to meet agreed availability, performance, resilience, and service-level requirements.
- Support incident, problem, change, capacity, and configuration management for cloud infrastructure services.
Migration and Modernization
- Support the migration of workloads from on-premises infrastructure to cloud platforms.
- Assess technical constraints, dependencies, risks, and non-functional requirements.
- Recommend appropriate cloud-native, platform, or infrastructure solutions based on business and technical needs.
Architecture and Technical Advisory
- Assess non-functional requirements such as security, reliability, scalability, performance, and availability.
- Review solution options and recommend the best approach to reduce risk and improve quality.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure infrastructure designs follow approved standards.
- Evaluate new cloud technologies and recommend improvements where relevant.
FinOps and Cloud Optimization
- Monitor cloud usage, resource utilization, and costs.
- Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities across cloud resources.
- Support cloud budgeting, cost tracking, and governance activities.
Operating System Administration
- Manage and maintain cloud-based Windows and Linux servers.
- Oversee patching, upgrades, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Ensure infrastructure reliability, security, performance, and operational readiness.
- Support continuous improvement of server operations and platform stability.
SFTP Service Management
- Manage and maintain enterprise SFTP platforms and file transfer services.
- Ensure secure file transfer operations through effective access, encryption, and security controls.
- Monitor service performance and drive timely resolution of operational issues.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance service reliability, security, and efficiency.
Backup and Recovery Management
- Manage backup and recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity.
- Ensure backup policies and recovery plans meet business and compliance requirements.
- Oversee backup validation and recovery testing activities.
- Drive resolution of backup and recovery issues and recommend service improvements.
Disaster Recovery (DR) Support
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and readiness activities for cloud workloads.
- Ensure recovery procedures are effective and meet recovery objectives (RTO/RPO).
- Coordinate DR drills, failover testing, and issue remediation activities.
- Recommend improvements to strengthen disaster recovery capabilities and resilience.
Project Delivery & Cloud Initiatives
- Lead and support cloud projects, including deployment, migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with application, security, network, and business teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Provide input to project planning, solution reviews, and implementation activities.
- Identify risks, recommend improvements, and ensure solutions align with business and technology standards.
Governance, Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Ensure cloud environments comply with security, governance, and operational requirements.
- Support audit, compliance, and risk management activities.
- Establish and enforce cloud infrastructure standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor Degree (S1) Degree in Technical/Information System/Other related educations
- Minimum 10 years of experience in IT Infrastructure; experience in the financial services industry is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, development, implementation, and testing.
Certifications/licenses (are an advantage):
- Cloud architecture Certification
- Technical certification (e.g. ITSM, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft)
- Business certification (e.g. FLMI from LOMA)
Special skills:
- Proven experience in managing and operating multi-platform infrastructure, including cloud environments, Windows and Linux servers, storage systems, networking, SFTP services, and other enterprise IT technologies to support business requirements.
- Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-scale cloud solutions across Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) models.
- Hands-on experience in cloud operations, including infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, patch management, backup and recovery management, disaster recovery (DR) support, and security compliance.
- Experience in planning, executing, and validating backup restoration tests and disaster recovery drills to ensure business continuity and recovery readiness.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across business and technical teams.
- Ability to develop, implement, and continuously improve IT operational policies, procedures, standards, and governance frameworks to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, including resource planning, workload allocation, performance monitoring, knowledge sharing, and mentoring team members.
- Good understanding of Project Management, IT Service Management (ITSM), Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with business processes and regulatory requirements within the Life Insurance industry is an advantage.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset and the capability to think creatively to deliver innovative solutions.
- Experience with cloud governance, security best practices, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud cost optimization is highly desirable.
- Relevant cloud certifications such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are preferred.
