Role Purpose
This role will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the function including catering to data service requests, data observability, Analytics, insight generation and Dashboard/MIS requirements while owning the business data within the SBI Card Data Lake.
Role Accountability
This role will be responsible for overseeing the execution of BI strategies and initiatives, managing and developing a team of BI analysts, and delivering actionable insights to drive business decisions in the credit card division. Work closely with senior leadership to support key business objectives, enhance data-driven decision-making, and lead the development of advanced analytics solutions.
BI Strategy & Leadership:
- Execute the long-term vision and strategy for the Business Intelligence function in alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Lead the development of data strategies that support customer acquisition, retention, profitability, risk management, and other key business goals.
- Provide thought leadership in transforming the organization into a data-driven enterprise.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior executives and business leaders to understand strategic goals and deliver BI insights that support high-level business decisions.
- Collaborate with Multiple teams to ensure BI initiatives are integrated and aligned with company priorities.
- Ensure that BI and analytics initiatives address the full spectrum of business needs, from marketing performance to credit risk and operational efficiency.
Team Leadership & Talent Development:
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing BI team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent in the BI function, ensuring the team has the skills necessary to meet the evolving needs of the business.
- Establish clear goals and performance metrics for the BI team and provide coaching and support to achieve business objectives.
Analytics & Insights Delivery:
- Champion the use of data to identify business opportunities, mitigate risks, and enhance customer experiences.
- Build a strong understanding of data processes across the card lifecycle, how and where the data is stored across multiple layers of data platform
- Lead customer, portfolio and business performance analytics.
- Develop frameworks for understanding key business drivers, trends and opportunities.
- Convert analytical findings into actionable business recommendations
Performance Measurement & Reporting:
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of BI initiatives and the impact on business performance.
- Deliver regular and ad-hoc reports to the executive team, summarizing BI-driven insights and actionable recommendations for the business.
- Ensure that senior management and other stakeholders have access to data-driven insights in a timely and actionable format
RBI Reporting:
- Timely submissions - Deliver all mandated RBI reports accurately and on schedule to meet regulatory deadlines.
- Data validation - Reconcile and verify data across systems to ensure consistency and correctness before submission.
- Regulatory compliance - Align reporting practices with RBI guidelines, promptly incorporating any regulatory updates.
- Audit readiness - Maintain complete documentation and transparent processes to ensure reports are always audit‑ready.
- Stakeholder communication - Provide timely updates to management and stakeholders on reporting status, risks, and compliance.
- Process improvement - Enhance reporting workflows through automation and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Technical Skills / Experience / Certifications
- Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView) and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R)
- Experience in data visualization and storytelling to communicate insights effectively
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and database management is a plus
- Strong understanding of financial metrics and KPIs related to credit card businesses (e.g., delinquency rates, card utilization, profitability)
- Strategic & Lateral thinking and capability to come up with new ideas
- Proficiency with statistical and data software languages

Qualification
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Data Analytics or related fields from good institute.
- Desired - Analytics certifications like Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Goggle Data Analytics Professional, etc.
