What You'll Be Doing

As a Business Development Support Manager you will play a critical role in supporting our commercial growth ambitions, providing end-to-end bid support, market analysis, branding activities, and marketing content that helps differentiate Maersk in the marketplace.

Key responsibilities include:

Business Development Support

- Complete research projects into customers, sectors, market trends, and growth opportunities, supporting the strategic agenda and preparing the team to win.
- Manage end-to-end internal sales and governance processes from initial opportunity identification through to customer contracting.
- Support Business Development Managers throughout the sales lifecycle, ensuring opportunities progress efficiently and effectively.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to gather information, develop solutions, and complete customer proposals and tender submissions.
- Lead the completion and maintenance of commercial systems including Salesforce, Investment Proposals, account plans, and opportunity tracking.
- Support customer retention activities, sales-led renewals, and strategic growth initiatives.

Branding & Marketing

- Support the development and execution of branding initiatives that strengthen Maersk's market presence and customer value proposition.
- Create engaging content for internal and external communication channels, including social media, customer presentations, case studies, newsletters, and marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, Sales, and Operations teams to develop targeted campaigns that generate awareness and support business growth.
- Maintain and update business development collateral, ensuring all customer-facing materials align with Maersk brand guidelines.
- Promote customer success stories, service innovations, industry insights, and key business achievements through digital and social media channels.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of customer events, industry exhibitions, networking opportunities, and business development activities.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and industry developments, providing insights to support commercial strategy and decision-making.

Content & Communications

- Develop high-quality presentations, proposals, and commercial documents to support customer engagements.
- Produce compelling content that enhances customer engagement and supports lead generation activities.
- Ensure consistency of messaging across all communication channels and customer interactions.
- Support thought leadership activities through content creation and market-focused communications.

What We're Looking For

Essential

- Minimum 2 years' operational experience within Contract Logistics.
- Supply Chain experience.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive, proactive, and solution-focused attitude.

Desirable

- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Business Development or Sales experience.
- Experience creating business content, presentations, or marketing materials.
- Understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing principles.
- Experience supporting branding, communications, or marketing initiatives.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.

This is a site-based role and can be located at any of our UK Contract Logistics sites, including:

- East Midlands Gateway
- Doncaster
- Tamworth

Travel to other Maersk locations may be required on occasion.
