About this role

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Component Engineer at MKS Global Capability Center Bangalore, you will partner with MKS Business Units to research, validate, and maintain electronic components’ engineering data and documentation. In this role, you will report to the Bangalore Component Engineering Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Identify and select alternates for COTS/OEM electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components, including connectors, cables, cable assemblies, PCBAs, capacitors, resistors, circuit breakers, wires, fans, fuses, relays, etc.
• Perform Form, Fit, and Function compatibility checks for electronic components
• Obsolescence management, sourcing and evaluating alternative components
• Complete documentation of designs conforming to MKS documentation standards including detail and assembly drawings, BoMs, RoHS certificates
• Closely coordinate with design engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions are manufacturable, cost-optimized, and meet quality requirements.

Skills You Bring:
• 3+ years experience and professional degree Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Experience with electrical hardware designs and reading electrical schematics
• Experience with Engineering Change Order process, product BOMs, design changes documentation, and new product introduction
• Experience with obsolescence management, Silicon Experts preferred
• Working knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance for electrical components
• Proficiency with enterprise PLM systems- Agile, ERP systems- SAP/Oracle, and component intelligence databases.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 80% of the time
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
• This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment
