About this role
Associate Scientists bring established laboratory experience and sound scientific judgment to study execution. In this role, you will perform assay work across development, validation, transfer, qualification, and sample analysis; organize and document scientific data; and address routine technical and operational issues. You will take ownership of assigned work while collaborating with Scientists, Senior Scientists, and project partners to keep studies accurate, compliant, and on schedule.
Based on your experience, technical strengths, and the needs of the hiring team, your assignments may focus on sample analysis, assay development, method transfer or qualification, or a combination of laboratory projects.
Your day-to-day responsibilities:
- Perform assay runs that support development, validation, transfer, qualification, or sample analysis with moderate scientific supervision.
- Prepare study materials, samples, reagents, controls, and other laboratory resources for assigned scientific work.
- Follow approved methods, standard operating procedures, study protocols, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations.
- Document experimental activities, technical observations, deviations, and routine results accurately in approved systems.
- Prepare routine study worksheets, data capture forms, and supporting laboratory documentation in accordance with approved requirements.
- Support method qualification, study readiness, data organization, and routine scientific summaries as assigned.
- Communicate technical observations, study progress, and operational issues to Scientists, Senior Scientists, or supervisors in a timely manner.
- Apply and continue strengthening technical proficiency, scientific judgment, and an understanding of BioAgilytix CRO workflows.
- Perform other responsibilities based on project and laboratory needs.
Minimum preferred qualifications: Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum four (4) years of relevant scientific experience.
- An equivalent combination of directly relevant education, training, and experience may be considered in place of the stated requirements.
Minimum preferred qualifications: Skills
- Familiarity with some or all of the following immunoassay platforms: ELISA, MSD-ECL, Gyrolab, Alphalisa, Licor and Luminex.
- Foundational to working-level laboratory technique and the ability to execute established methods consistently.
- Basic understanding of scientific data recording, data integrity, and regulated laboratory expectations.
- Ability to summarize routine experimental results and communicate technical observations.
- Strong attention to detail, learning agility, and the ability to work collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with standard office software and a willingness to learn specialized laboratory systems.
- Clear written and spoken English language skills.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and computer skills.

- Advanced degree in life sciences or a related scientific discipline.

Work environment and schedule:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with no direct supervisory responsibilities. The role is primarily laboratory-based and works under moderate supervision, with responsibility for managing assigned tasks independently and escalating complex issues when needed.
The position requires frequent movement, periods of standing or remaining stationary, repetitive hand movements, bending, crouching, and lifting or moving laboratory equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds. Some schedule flexibility may be available, but employees must be present during established core work hours. Occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work may be needed based on study schedules and business requirements.
