About this role

The Role

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant with a steady track record who enjoys ownership, accuracy, and a fast-moving environment. You'll own key parts of the month-end close, support financial analysis for customer projects, and support and act as backup for our billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions so the team keeps running smoothly at all times. You'll also work directly with the VP Finance on special finance and accounting projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and record month-end close entries, including accruals, prepaid amortization, and other adjusting journal entries

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and fixed asset accounts

• Prepare intercompany reconciliations between the US and India entities and resolve differences on time

• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules, and reconcile fixed assets to the general ledger

• Review and post payroll journal entries, and reconcile payroll-related liability accounts

• Maintain deferred revenue schedules and support revenue recognition for subscription and services revenue under ASC 606

• Calculate and maintain the allowance for credit losses on accounts receivable under CECL (ASC 326)

• Perform general ledger analysis and month-over-month variance (flux) analysis

• Prepare financial analysis and documentation related to customer projects, including project profitability, billing support, and revenue tracking

• Support and act as backup for customer billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and PMO-related finance activities

• Support and act as backup for accounts payable, including vendor invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor reconciliations

• Support the annual audit and corporate tax filing documentation and reporting, including preparing audit schedules (PBCs) and responding to requests from external auditors and advisors

• Help maintain and document internal controls and accounting processes, including the month-end close checklist

• Work with the VP Finance on special finance and accounting projects

• Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate finance processes

• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for US-based finance leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance; CA (Inter/Final) is a plus

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience with a stable employment history

• Experience working for or supporting a US-based company

• Working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition and CECL (ASC 326)

• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online or similar ERP/accounting systems used by small and mid-sized companies (e.g., Xero, NetSuite, Zoho Books)

• Strong experience with month-end close, accruals, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, and GL review

• Working knowledge of AR, AP, billing, and payroll accounting

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for working directly with US stakeholders

• High attention to detail, strong sense of ownership, and the ability to work independently

Nice to Have

• Experience in a SaaS, fintech, or financial services company

• Exposure to subscription billing and project-based revenue

• Familiarity with India accounting and tax compliance for a subsidiary of a US company

• Experience with tools such as Smartsheet, HubSpot, or payment and spend-management platforms

Working Hours

This role requires partial overlap with US Eastern Time (typically [e.g., 2:00 PM–11:00 PM IST or a defined overlap window]), especially during month-end close.
