Intro

Help shape the future of smart manufacturing at Straumann Group.

We’re looking for a Smart Factory Solution Architect to join our Manufacturing & Product Lifecycle Applications team and help develop a globally connected manufacturing platform.
In this role, you’ll contribute to our digital transformation by designing and enhancing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions that connect manufacturing operations from edge to cloud. Working with modern microservices architecture, you'll help build scalable, reliable applications that support our Industry 4.0 ambitions.
As part of our Global Business Applications department, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external technology partners, working closely with our Global Smart Factory Solutions Architect. You'll have the opportunity to shape technical solutions, take ownership of end-to-end features, and further develop your expertise in application architecture.

Your Role

As our Smart Factory Solution Architect, you'll:

- Design and develop solutions: Contribute to the architecture, development, and continuous improvement of our global Smart Factory platform.
- Turn ideas into applications: Translate business and manufacturing needs into practical technical solutions, from rapid prototyping through deployment.
- Connect systems and data: Help integrate applications, data flows, and technologies across manufacturing systems, edge devices, and cloud environments.
- Collaborate across teams: Work with global functional teams, developers, and external partners to define requirements and deliver end-to-end capabilities.
- Ensure quality and reliability: Participate in testing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization to deliver maintainable, high-quality solutions.
- Build technical clarity: Create and maintain architecture documentation, technical specifications, and integration guidelines.
- Grow your architectural expertise: Follow a structured development path toward broader application architecture responsibilities, supported by mentorship and hands-on experience.

Your Profile
You're someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and translating ideas into practical solutions.

What you'll bring:

- Experience in application development, customization, and collaboration within cross-functional project teams, ideally with around five years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of databases, scripting languages such as JavaScript or Python, and web technologies.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, messaging technologies such as MQTT or Kafka, and API integrations.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and cloud environments.
- Knowledge of IoT/IIoT concepts and their application to connected systems.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.

Nice to have:

- Experience with manufacturing systems
- French language skills.

What Makes You a Great Fit
You enjoy exploring new technologies and finding ways to apply them to real business challenges. You combine technical curiosity with a practical approach to delivering solutions that make a difference.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

- Think collaboratively: Share knowledge, welcome different perspectives, and contribute effectively across teams.
- Take ownership: Follow through on commitments and focus on delivering reliable, valuable outcomes.
- Keep learning: Seek feedback, explore emerging technologies, and actively develop your technical expertise.
- Value quality: Apply a test-first mindset and recognize that delivering dependable solutions is a shared responsibility.
- Adapt and improve: Navigate changing requirements with curiosity and a solution-oriented approach.

At Straumann Group, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a global manufacturing transformation while developing your skills and growing toward expanded architectural responsibilities.
