About this role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead and support corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities. This onsite leadership role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information, maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements, driving process improvements, and supporting consolidated reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a continuous improvement mindset to help strengthen financial operations and develop high-performing accounting teams.

Responsibilities:

- Lead, manage, and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the Corporate business unit.

- Prepare, review, and analyze Corporate internal financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP.

- Aid in consolidated financial reporting, including preparing and uploading business unit results to corporate reporting systems and supporting external financial reporting requirements as needed.

- Aid in the preparation of corporate budget workbooks, forecasting activities, and financial planning processes.

- Aid in the preparation and review of monthly control items such as balance sheet reconciliations, journal entry review and month end control check list.

- Assist operations management in analyzing program, project, and product-line performance and developing corrective actions when needed.

- Provide accounting guidance, training, and support to business units and company departments to resolve accounting issues and promote consistent application of policies and procedures.

- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop accounting and finance employees, including defining responsibilities, assigning projects, conducting performance reviews, and supporting improved team performance.

- Identify and implement process improvement, automation, and standardization opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, communication, cost control, profitability, cash flow, and reporting lead times.

- Supervise the administration of the credit card program.

- Maintain confidentiality, protect company assets, act with integrity, report non-compliance when identified, and comply with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and shared values.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Experience with ERP systems required; Syteline/SYMIX experience preferred.

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and related business systems; experience with reporting systems such as Cognos preferred.

- Proven ability to organize resources, establish priorities, manage deadlines, and lead the accounting function in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment within established policies, procedures, and regulations.

- Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, facilitation, and relationship-building skills across multiple departments and levels of the organization.

- Ability to motivate finance teams to produce high-quality work within tight timeframes while managing multiple projects and strategic initiatives.

- High degree of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, attention to detail, follow-through, and project management discipline.

- Ability to continuously evaluate systems, procedures, and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, communication, and business performance.

- Ability to attend, lead, and participate in required company meetings.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; masters degree preferred.

- Minimum of five years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership experience.

- Strong knowledge and practical application of U.S. GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, corporate accounting policies, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.

- Experience in manufacturing preferred.

- CPA preferred.

Physical Requirements:

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.

- Requires sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate a computer and review documents
