Your tasks and responsibilities:

- As part of your bachelor’s thesis, you will investigate the occurrence of small movements (< 1 mm) on an axis within the usage profile. Field usage data will be available to help analyze the causes.
- The goal of your thesis is the systematic analysis and verification of micro movements based on available data as well as suitable experimental investigations.
- Your tasks will include in particular:
- Applying a predefined logic to detect movements in the usage data
- Quantifying the occurrence of micro movements, including statistical evaluation
- Reviewing the underlying questions and hypotheses based on the available data
- Analyzing whether the occurrence of micro movements across the fleet is normally distributed
- Investigating possible parallel movements during the occurrence of micro movements and identifying the affected axes
- Analyzing whether micro movements occur only in specific components
- Investigating possible correlations between environmental factors and micro movements
- Identifying relationships between micro movements and parallel or superimposed movements as well as other relevant influencing factors
- Designing and conducting experiments to verify the hypotheses regarding micro movements
- Evaluating the data collected during the experiments

Your qualifications and experience:

- You are studying for a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mechatronics, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or a comparable field
- You have strong Python skills for statistical analyses

Your attributes and skills:

- You have very good German or English language skills
- You are a team player and have strong communication skills
