Position Overview
We are seeking an organized, detailed-oriented and analytical Operations Analyst to support the administration of loss-sensitive insurance programs, including Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Commercial Auto. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate calculation and reconciliation of premium and claim-related transactions, deductible recoveries, and program adjustments while delivering exceptional service to insureds, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions
- Calculate and process premium adjustments, deductible billings, and program reconciliations in accordance with policy terms and company guidelines.
- Prepare and issue invoices for premium adjustments and deductible recoveries.
- Record and reconcile and monitor cash transactions related to claims activity and premium adjustments to keep receivable balances within the established targets.
- Follow up on collections for deductible recoverable amounts.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within company systems and reporting tools.
- Communicate effectively with insured and brokers regarding inquiries, assisting with insurance renewals in collaboration with internal teams.
- Provide problem-solving support and technical assistance to team members, underwriters, insureds and brokers.
- Research and resolve variances/discrepancies, collaborating with brokers and insured partners to confirm necessary actions in accordance organizational serving goals.
Job Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify areas for process improvement.
- Experience in the insurance industry, particularly in claims and program adjustments is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in related field.
Proficient in financial record-keeping and invoicing processes, with a keen attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong background in excel.
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000-$85,000
