Position Statement:

The Program Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of daily program operations and maintaining the highest standards of youth in our care preparing for independence. This role provides guidance, direction, and ongoing support implementing transition focused strategies and interventions that promote safety, growth independence of youth, while also supporting and fostering a supportive environment for staff, The Supervisor ensures that staff are equipped to engage youth in developing life skills, building community connections, and strengthening self-advocacy. The Supervisor plays a critical role in helping both staff and youth achieving success in alignment with their strengths, goals, and potential

Responsibilities:

- Actively contribute to a supportive environment that prepares youth for adulthood through community connections, financial literacy, vocational readiness, and daily life skills practice.

- Demonstrate and model the residential care/TIP frameworks (Boys Town, PEM, TCI, Caseys life skills) while integrating transition-focused practices that build independence, life skills, and self-advocacy in youth.

- Use critical thinking and sound judgment to lead the program and/or campus (e.g., assistance calls) with regard to safety, security, and youth well-being.

- Ensure that program processes are upheld, organized, and accounted for, including residential communication/correspondence (e.g., staff logs), collaboration with other Agency departments (medical, food service, education, etc.), and coordination with external entities (State, Counties, families, and community partners).

- Develop and manage staff schedules; monitor shift changes, PTO, vacancies, and provide clear coverage plans that maintain youth support.

- Provide emergency and planned shift coverage for Youth Development Professionals-TIP and other supervisors as needed due to vacation, holidays, illness, staff shortage, or other absences.

- Ensure that all Critical Incident and Incident Report notifications are completed and communicated appropriately (families, counties, Management Team, On-Call Risk Evaluator, On-Call Medical, Maintenance, Directors, etc.).

- Maintain accurate and timely record-keeping systems and program documentation that reflect both youth progress and program operations.

- Provide coaching, consultation, and performance feedback to staff

- Monitor all activities within Paycom relevant to the position, including scheduling, time management, and documentation compliance.

- Participate in the on-call rotation, providing leadership support for program staff and youth during off-hours.

- Uphold, support, and monitor all OCFS and Agency policies and procedures, ensuring the program remains in full compliance.

- Technically and physically able to provide crisis intervention, including physical restraints. This required training is provided by the Agency

- Boys town trained and comfortable with implementing the model within the program.

Required Education and Experience:

- Associates or bachelors degree in human services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.

- Human services managerial experience preferred

- Experience working with adolescents/young adults and staff, ideally in residential or foster care. Knowledge of life skills coaching, transition planning, and/or TIP model strongly preferred.

- Ability to build positive, respectful, and empowering relationships with youth.

- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

- Valid drivers license required; ability to transport youth as needed.

Essential Job Qualifications:

- Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.

- Able to provide crisis intervention including physical restraints. Restraints may include resistive force, bending, squatting, kneeling, lying down, and holding youth in order to maintain safety.

- Ability to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of time

- Ability to lift arms over head in upward reaching motion

- Ability to walk up and downstairs up to several times per day.

- Varying levels of travel as determined by departmental needs may be required with this position.
