We are currently looking for a Field Quality Investigations - Engineering Intern to join our team in Smyrna, TN. The FQI Rogue Task Force provides an exciting opportunity to support the launch of the new Smyrna-built Rogue while focusing on vehicle field quality. This fast-paced environment offers a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration as the team works to quickly understand field concerns, develop countermeasures, and improve customer satisfaction. Interns will gain valuable experience in technical investigations, data analytics, technical reporting, cross-functional collaboration, and automotive quality engineering.
A Day in the Life:
- Assist in identifying field concerns related to automotive electrical and mechanical systems and components.
- Investigate assigned field quality issues through vehicle testing, bench testing, and technical analysis.
- Prepare technical reports, summarize findings, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
- Analyze field quality information, including consumer surveys, warranty data, consumer affairs reports, field staff reports, and technical hotline data.
- Track corrective actions and support the development of technical service bulletins and other quality improvement initiatives.
Who We’re Looking For :
Required:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Students entering their Junior, Senior, or Master's program at the start of the upcoming academic term.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and continuously develop technical and professional skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Interest in automotive systems, vehicle quality, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
- Ability to perform work onsite at Smyrna, TN.
