How you’ll make an impact

Leverage your expertise in commercial or agriculture and food lending to prepare credit submissions for complex agribusiness and agri-food proposals.

As a Senior Loans Analyst, you’ll partner with Senior Relationship Managers to analyze customer information, assess credit risk and recommend loan structures that support customer needs while managing risk. Your advanced credit analysis and negotiation skills will enable you to guide complex submissions through the authorization process and support sound lending decisions.

What you’ll do

- Negotiate and prepare credit submissions for complex agribusiness and agri-food loan proposals

- Analyze customer source documents, financial statements and business information to assess credit risk and recommend appropriate loan structures

- Partner with Senior Relationship Managers and Credit Risk throughout the authorization process, including structuring, negotiating, approving or recommending loan terms, conditions and security agreements within established authority

- Complete analysis and submissions for account reviews, loan compliance monitoring, loan administration requests, eligibility rulings and scorecard reinstatements

- Manage customer relationships and process, prepare and approve eligible loan requests within unilateral authority and scorecard limits

- Research enterprises and businesses to support customer prospecting, key customer relationships and preparation for meetings with customers and prospects

What you’ll bring to the team

Required qualifications:

- A degree in business, economics or agriculture , or an equivalent combination of education and experience

- At least four years of related experience in commercial or agriculture and food lending

- Significant expertise in corporate and commercial lending, including advanced credit analysis and risk mitigation for complex lending submissions

- Strong knowledge of lending processes, policies and procedures, including large loan processes

- Business and financial knowledge, including an understanding of commercial and corporate structures such as joint ventures

- Strong research, communication, relationship-building, judgement and decision-making skills

- High attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills for complex companies and loans

- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) and proven ability in oral and written communication

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience negotiating inter-lender agreements, capital call agreements or similar lending agreements

- Agriculture industry knowledge

- Experience supporting customer meetings and complex lending negotiations
