About Our Team
We are building Qira, Lenovo's next-generation cross-device Personal AI platform that delivers intelligent, context-aware experiences across Windows, Android, and the cloud. Our team takes Qira from platform to real-world use across Lenovo teams, consumer experiences, partner initiatives, and enterprise environments. We discover high-value use cases, build the integrations and agent capabilities that make Qira useful, and turn adoption learning into reusable product improvements.

About the Role
The Forward Deployed Engineer is a hands-on software engineer who works directly with the people and teams using Qira to discover use cases and make them work in real contexts. You will build and ship the integrations, configurations, and agents each program needs, and stay with them until the capability is adopted and working in production.
This is a hybrid role based in Morrisville, with at least three days a week on site with Lenovo’s business and IT teams. Travel of up to 25% to other Lenovo locations, partner sites, and customer sites is expected. Your initial focus will be priority Qira adoption programs, beginning with Customer Zero and potentially spanning consumer experiences, partner initiatives, and enterprise deployments as priorities evolve. This is an engineering role first. You write and ship production code, and you spend much of your time with the people who use it.

What You’ll Do

- Deploy and configure Qira for priority adoption programs, beginning with Lenovo’s “Customer Zero” program and working directly with users and IT teams.

- Work with stakeholders to map workflows and pain points, and help scope them into deployable use cases.
- Write production code that ships into real environments: integrations, connectors, agents and skills, including MCP servers as the team’s standard integration pattern.
- Configure and troubleshoot identity and SSO, device and app settings, security, and workflow integrations hands-on.
- Support Qira pilots, beta programs, launches, and use-case development across internal, consumer, partner, and enterprise user groups.
- Drive adoption after deployment: track usage, gather feedback, fix issues, and improve what has been built.
- Document deployments and contribute to the reusable components and playbook used across Qira rollouts.
- Raise field issues and requirements to the engineering team with clear, actionable detail.

Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years in software engineering, solutions engineering, applied AI, or forward deployed engineering.
- Experience with Python or TypeScript, with experience shipping production code.

- Working knowledge of LLMs, prompt design, retrieval-based architectures, and agent-based systems, with hands-on experience building at least one LLM-powered feature.
- Experience building production integrations against external APIs.
- Deployed or supported software directly with users or IT teams, and troubleshot it in a live environment.
- Track record of driving adoption of what you built, not only delivering it.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

Preferred Qualifications
- Enterprise identity and SSO (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, Entra ID) and/or workflow automation and iPaaS platforms such as Workato.
- Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or agent frameworks.
- Judged an LLM feature using a success metric, a review set, or adoption data.
- Experience with Windows, Android, or device management (Intune, Android Enterprise).
- Exposure to enterprise security and access controls, such as supporting a security review.
- Fluency in AI-assisted development workflows, with Cursor and Linear or equivalent tools.
- Clear communicator, comfortable working directly with business users, IT teams, and end users.

What Success Looks Like
- Qira capabilities in daily use by the teams and users you support.
- Working solutions in users’ hands each sprint, not demos or slideware.
- Issues resolved in the field, with material product, security, and reliability risks escalated through clear channels.
- Deployment patterns documented and reused on the next rollout.
