What you will be doing
The Patient Care Services Manager works under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy Operations. Pharmacy Care Service Managers purpose is to create and implement Patient Care and Specialty Care services in Company pharmacies and manage results to the annual Pharmacy Care sales plan.
We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Pharmacy required (B.S. or Pharm. D.).
- Knowledge of state, federal, and company policies and procedures, including PC Policies and Procedures.
- Knowledge of Albertsons Pharmacy practices, including inventory control, third party programs generic usage.
- Knowledge of Pharmacy Care licensing and certification.
- Knowledge of financial reports and their use.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to details.
- Leadership skills, a positive enthusiastic attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Interpersonal skills include building relationships and conflict resolution. This involves the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with peers, management and other departments.
- Drive for results, including demonstrating energy and enthusiasm for new ideas and practices and an orientation toward accomplishment and innovation. This involves the ability to direct self and/or employees toward accomplishment of objectives and to persist in the face of challenges and obstacles to achieve goals and objectives.
- Oral communication skills, including the ability to speak in a clear and concise manner to peers, managers, and both internal and external customers. This includes the ability to communicate well to large groups of people.
- Influencing skills, including the ability to persuade others (customers, vendors and employees) to accept a point of view or take specific action.

- Ability to develop an understanding of the merchandising and selling of pharmacy related items.

- Ability to manage large amounts of data and information, plan and implement events and clinics, while still focusing on other aspects of the job.
- Thorough understanding of all clinical services division can offer and ability to train and manage to these.
- Ability to appropriate staff clinics and PCS activities, ensuring operational excellence and a financially responsible model is followed by all parties
- Interact with grocery employees such as Store Directors and District Managers to convey information and execute on PCS tactics, marketing and events
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word and mail merge).
Main Responsibilities
- PCSM has direct responsibility for supervising pharmacists for the implementation and execution of Pharmacy Care Pharmacist (PCP) and Specialty Care (SC) services in Company pharmacies. Train, develop, monitor and mentor pharmacists at store level to effectively implement PC programs into their practice sites and the Pharmacy Manager is managing their business and practice to the Pharmacy Care sales goal.
- Responsible for providing PC goals and managing to year end division PC sales plan. PCSM’s will participate in Pharmacy Manager annual performance reviews in cooperation with the DPM related to PC program participation.
- Each PCSM will serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for program(s) they act as Lead within PC and SC, and assist all Pharmacy Care Pharmacists to implement and execute patient care services across all divisions.
- Responsible for all Board of Pharmacy regulations in the states they are responsible for related to PC and SC services, and ensure all Pharmacists complete all licensing and certification related to patient care services for their State of practice.
- Ensure Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) compliance by pharmacies.
- Ensure Blood-borne Pathogen (BBP) and The Companies Exposure Control Plan compliance by pharmacists.
- Ensure pharmacist compliance with maintaining a current CPR certificate and offering CPR training for pharmacists.
- Provide and track completion of immunization certificate training for all new and existing pharmacists.
- Develop relationships and capture sales with business and organizations that utilize PC and SC services Albertsons Pharmacies offer.
- Actively participate in State Immunization Coalition(s).
- Participating in health fairs and recruiting where Pharmacy Care can be an integral feature.
Physical Environment
- Must be able to report to Deer Valley division office and maintain standard work schedule
- Travel to stores or clinical events may also be required both in and out of state, periodically
- Incumbents may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
- Incumbents may use calculators, keyboards, telephones and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
- Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
