About this role

The Prep Technician sorts and prepares Cass Facilities bills to go to the Mailroom Associate for continued processing in preparation to scan documents.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

- Organizes and sorts Facilities mail and separate the clients into groups as per department procedures.

- Serves as back up to the second-shift Mail Operations Lead as needed by providing of incoming USPS mail into designated post office box groupings for distribution to the Prep Team.

- Accesses Cass intranet to research and determine clients by payable name using various search functions.

- Maintains updated procedures.

- Reviews and complies with the new or updated client cross-reference and post office box listings.

- Discards old procedures and files, updates as received.

- Initiates problem solving by presenting issues and possible solutions to the lead or supervisor.

- Participates in client demonstrations.

- Maintains a clean, neat and professional workspace.

- Works overtime as required by management to ensure timely completion of all accounts.

- Other duties as needed or assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Ability to comprehend and retain instructions.

- Good organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

- Detail oriented.

- Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and computer skills.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Previous work experience in a production-oriented processing environment.
