This position offers a great mix of responsibilities and variety throughout the workday. In addition to working with birth certificates, team members spend time throughout the hospital collecting patient charts, providing opportunities to stay active, get your steps in, and build relationships with staff across multiple departments. The role also includes scanning and indexing documents using our advanced scanning and AI software, helping ensure patient records are accurately captured and easily accessible. As part of the position, employees become a notary and assist with important documentation, gaining a valuable professional credential while supporting patients and families. This combination of movement, technology, customer service, and collaboration makes each day unique and engaging.
Summary
Provides a variety of support activities for the Health Information Management (HIM) Department such as birth certificate completion, provider order review, support of scanning related processes, and abstraction of data.
Job Description
Enjoy a dynamic role that combines movement throughout the hospital with a variety of Health Information Management responsibilities. This position supports daily chart pickup from patient care units, document scanning and indexing, and the birth certificate process while ensuring healthcare information is handled accurately and confidentially. Responsibilities include document preparation, data entry, retrieval of records, document imaging, and other HIM operational functions. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and enjoys working in multiple environments while supporting critical patient record processes. Prior healthcare experience is preferred.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Associate's degree in Health Information or Medical Record Technology preferred.
