The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting incoming raw materials, subassemblies, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with established specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. This position supports both Disposable and Electronics product lines, serves as a coordinator within Quality Operations to meet internal customer needs, and assists with quality investigations and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strict adherence to the Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO 13485 requirements, and Quest Medical quality policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Inspect incoming raw materials associated with Disposable and Electronics product lines.
- Perform inspections of functionally tested raw materials, subassemblies, in-process products, return goods, and finished Medical devices.
- Verify production line clearances and ensure compliance with established quality requirements.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of components, subassemblies, and finished products.
- Review inspection data and DHRs (including sterilization records) for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide/coordinate training for new IQC Technicians
- Accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records.
- Identify, document, and process non-conforming materials (NCMR’s) and products in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with investigations related to customer complaints, internal non-conformances, and quality system deviations.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other internal customers to support operational needs and maintain product quality.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to inspection methods, testing processes, and product quality.
- Evaluate materials for extending Expiration dates
- Review and recommend improvements to testing and inspection methods for disposable and electronic components.
- Prepare and process samples for LAL testing and sterilization
- Review inspection data and DHRs (including sterilization records) for accuracy and compliance to the applicable standard(s).
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Ability to use pallet jack to move materials
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50lbs.
- Execute and maintain 5S environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control, inspection, manufacturing or a regulated industry required.
- 3–5 years of experience in medical device or ISO 13485/FDA-regulated manufacturing preferred.
- Experience with ERP/eQMS systems such as SAP, Oracle, Q-Pulse, MasterControl, or equivalent for inspection records, material status, and NCMR processing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and test methods.
- Detail oriented, computer literate and possesses a professional demeanor, be adaptable to changing environments and capable of completing tasks with little or no supervision
- Knowledge of Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485, and Good Documentation Practices preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with basic inspection tools, including calipers and micrometers, as well as vision measurement systems such as Keyence, OGP, or equivalent systems.
- Proficiency with inspection tools, measuring equipment, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge on Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
