Job Title : Human Resources Generalist

Department: Office

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function

The HR Generalist supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department by administering and coordinating a variety of HR functions, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, attendance, timekeeping, employee counseling, and recordkeeping. Works closely with employees and management to provide HR support, ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and promote employee engagement and retention.

Primary Responsibilities and Frequency

- Maintaining and ensuring food safety. Report any food safety deviations to your supervisor immediately.
- Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines
- Maintains temporary and D&D employee time records for weekly payrolls. Reconciles temporary staffing time records.
- Submits and approves timecards weekly.
- Facilitates the recruiting and hiring process, including posting job openings, reviewing and tracking applicants.
- Assists with phones and gates, as needed.  Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to employees who call.
- Assist employees regarding company policies, attendance, scheduling, benefits, PTO, and other HR-related questions. Escalates employee relations concerns to the Director of Office Administration & HR Operations as appropriate.
- Assists with developing and implementing recruiting and retention initiatives to support staffing needs and employee retention.
- Maintains accurate employee information and HR records in Workday and other HR systems.
- Orders and maintains supplies for production employees.
- Assists with employee engagement events.
- Creates monthly birthday/work anniversary calendar and employee promotional posts.
- Serves as backup for the Director of Office Administration & HR Operations, Customer Care Coordinator, and Office Support Specialist as needed.
- Supports the HR department and front office.

Education and Experience:

- High school education or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- One or more years of Human Resources, office administration experience or a related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, follow through, and proven administrative skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle interruptions with ease.
- Constant handling of highly confidential information and documentation with discretion
- Ability to interact with basic computer systems.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This is considered a semi-skilled position. Frequent to constant handling, grasping paper, constant listening, talking, hearing, writing, seeing, reading, dealing with people, influencing others, evaluating information and supervising.

Working Conditions:

Office (climate-controlled). This is a fast-paced work environment. Frequent deadlines exist while handling multiple tasks.
