Northrop Grumman's Chief Information & Digital Office organization is seeking an Audio-Visual (A/V) Technician to support its McLean, VA location.
As an Audio-Visual Technician, you will support a configurable conference area, a specialized innovation meeting center, and individual conference rooms. You will provide A/V and MS Teams Room support for internal and external customers, ensuring meetings and events run without incident and in a timely and professional manner. You will be responsible for A/V solutions for new installations or modifications to existing NGC facilities. You will need to collaborate with the facilities team on cabling and power requirements, installation, and quality control and will frequently use general knowledge of industry best practices, techniques, and standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Install and troubleshoot A/V equipment in a professional corporate environment.
- Responsible for set-up, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of A/V and production equipment such as microphones, speakers, video displays, projectors, switching and processing gear, cameras, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, and mixing boards.
- Coordinate with IT staff, server administrators, network engineers, and customers for A/V equipment deployment and retirement.
- Work with procurement teams for small-to-large-scale A/V purchases; manage internal and/or external resources to ensure installation accuracy and system reliability
- Manage service and maintenance agreements for A/V systems and components
- Provide guidance to customers on best use of conference spaces and A/V components.
- Develop solutions to a variety of problems of varying scope and complexity under pressure
- Work with various display technologies, analog and digital audio consoles, and basic lighting.
- Occasional travel (up to 10%)
- Lifting equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Work hours to support meetings, as needed

Basic Qualifications for level 3:
- High School diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant IT experience; OR an Associates degree and 2 years of relevant IT experience is required
- Must have work experience with audio visual technologies to include troubleshooting skills for identifying and correcting A/V problems both digital and analog
- Experience with A/V-related components (examples: MS Win10, iOS devices, MS Office 365, MS Teams, Zoom) is required
- Must have leadership capabilities to include either site management, project management, project coordination, or leading teams/projects as a supervisor, lead, or a team specialists
- Candidates must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance as a condition of continued employment
Basic Qualifications for level 4:
- High School diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant IT experience; OR an Associates degree and 4 years of relevant IT experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant IT experience is required
- Must have work experience with audio visual technologies to include troubleshooting skills for identifying and correcting A/V problems both digital and analog
- Experience with A/V-related components (examples: MS Win10, iOS devices, MS Office 365, MS Teams, Zoom) is required
- Must have leadership capabilities to include either site management, project management, project coordination, or leading teams/projects as a supervisor, lead, or a team specialists
- Candidates must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance as a condition of continued employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4 years of experience with MS Teams, Polycom, Crestron, or other similar Audio Visual conference room technology
- A/V systems design experience, including Scope and Statement of Work production
- Ability to understand and create “As-built” diagrams and documents
- Project management skills a plus
- Audio mixers, video switchers, and integrated A/V technologies
- Experience with advanced A/V hardware/software
- Experience with digital signage vendors and content management systems
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, especially for troubleshooting embedded media
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to comfortably interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work well under pressure and make decisions quickly
- Work with minimal supervision and act as a technical lead for project implementations
- Current/Active Secret clearance

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
