About this role
Description
Join Amazon's dynamic environment as a Supply Chain Manager with a planning background, where you will play a crucial role in shaping and optimizing various facets of our operations, concentrating on managing the flow of goods, information, or services within the supply chain network.
We have exciting opportunities across different business units, each seeking a skilled professional to lead strategic initiatives and drive process improvements within our supply chain network. As a strategic Supply Chain Manager, you'll take end-to-end ownership of operations, emphasizing capacity planning, logistics optimization, network design, and analysis of operational efficiency.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business, operations, program management, product, finance, and more. Utilize your analytical prowess to identify opportunities for operational improvements, implement scalable systems, and drive automation to enhance efficiency, with a particular focus on optimizing the physical flow and operations within the supply chain network. Whether you're managing network capacity initiatives, overseeing cross-functional programs, or focusing on strategic projects, your impact will be visible, ongoing, and contribute directly to our commitment to being the most customer-centric company on earth.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the long-term network plan for AMXL's middle mile network, including the multi-year sort center topology, linehaul connectivity and carrier mix strategy, and capacity plan.
- Own the inputs, outputs, and assumptions of the network optimization models used to build those plans, working with the science teams who develop them.
- Author the full year plans and planning documents for your segment through Amazon's annual and three-year planning cycles, and present recommendations to Director and VP leadership.
- Lead cross-organizational workstreams on network strategy, such as externalization and hard regionalization, with Operations, Finance, Transportation, and Retail partners.
- Analyze and synthesize data to identify opportunities for enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency in the network.
- Define metrics, develop mechanisms, and invent and simplify processes to drive decision-making in complex network situations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across functions, influencing and facilitating agreements to achieve shared network goals.
A day in the life
In this role you own the long-term plan for AMXL's middle mile network: how volume flows from fulfillment centers through sort centers to delivery stations, which lanes run on Amazon's fleet versus third-party carriers, and how the network extends to external customers. You work with our science, finance, transportation, engineering, and operations partners to model what the network needs to look like over the next three years, and you write and present the recommendation to senior leadership. You will also own the strategic questions that come out of those reviews and see them through to a decision.
Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment.
The benefits that generally apply to regular, full-time employees include:
Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
Maternity and Parental Leave Options
Paid Time Off (PTO)
401(k) Plan
If you are not sure that every qualification on the list above describes you exactly, we'd still love to hear from you!
