Job Overview
The Order Puller Lead ensures the goals of the department and facility are completed in a safe and efficient manner, by coaching the Order Pullers to safely operate all AFW equipment, and ensure that orders are correctly, efficiently, and safely being processed for our customers and departments.
The Order Puller Lead will also monitor production, merchandise storage bins, and equipment to ensure everything is up to AFW standards and make corrections as needed. The Order Puller Lead will also coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency and exceed customer service expectations.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.
- Appraises employee performance, communicates goals and expectations, provide honest feedback and coaches team members.
- Provides continual training to team members with an emphasis on safety and service.
- Coach employees on how to perform the correct furniture handling and loading techniques.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Communicates, leads, and develops teamwork within the Order Puller Department.
- Ensure the correct paperwork/forms are filled out correctly.
- Identifying and reading reports, tickets and UPC labels.
- Operate material handling equipment to move product within the warehouse and load Order Pullers with merchandise.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner.
- All training provided by AFW.
- Able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Other duties to be assigned/directed by supervisor.
This position does have supervisory responsibilities.
Job Requirements
- Previous management/leadership/or similar experience preferred.
- Ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision.
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies including but not limited to - Storis, iPad, Excel, Word, etc.
- Efficiently use the AWM Scheduler to assign Order Pullers to complete department and facility goals.
- Able to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the ability to safely use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Able to operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.
- Able to correctly use a hand truck.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED is preferred.; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of diploma.
Compensation
Starting at $19/hour and up - dependent on experience

Physical Requirements
- Capacity to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
- Capability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.
- Lifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.
- Continuous use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
- Ability to lift, lower, move, carry, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. and the skill to handle/manipulate merchandise up to 250 lbs. frequently.
- Able to work in variable environments with different lighting, loud exterior noise, and flooring.
