About this opportunity:
As the Senior Maintenance Coordinator, Preventative Maintenance, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations across the Lloyd Thermal Conventional Heavy Oil (LTCHO) area. Reporting to the LTCHO Maintenance Superintendent, you will work closely with Operations Leadership, Maintenance Coordinators, IMSE, and Reliability to plan, prioritize, and execute preventative maintenance activities. This role is ideal for a highly organized and collaborative professional who brings strong business judgment, clear communication, and a commitment to building strong partnerships and delivering results through a “One Team, One Goal” approach.

What you’ll do:
- Develop and optimize preventative maintenance systems, procedures, and strategies to improve maintenance efficiency, equipment reliability, and overall asset performance.
- Lead the development and management of detailed PM work plans in collaboration with the SAP PM development team, Reliability, and Maintenance stakeholders.
- Coordinate crew capacity, scheduling, and work priorities with Operations and other Senior Maintenance Coordinators to ensure effective resource utilization.
- Ensure PM activities and follow-on work are effectively identified, planned, scheduled, executed, and closed out in accordance with Cenovus standards.
- Monitor PM schedule adherence, conduct efficiency look-backs, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and execution.
- Support annual budget development, monthly cost reporting, contractor invoice verification, and cost control while identifying opportunities to improve contractor performance and value.
- Champion a strong safety culture through effective control of work, LOD audits, readiness assessments, risk reviews, and implementation of recovery plans.
- Lead and develop direct reports by setting clear accountabilities, supporting training and development, and fostering a collaborative “One Team, One Goal” culture aligned with Cenovus values.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- 12+ years of experience in maintenance planning/execution, turnaround, or project management, with post-secondary education in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Mechanical/Electrical Technology, Business, or related discipline.
- Proven leadership experience managing complex, critical scopes across large organizations, including experience supervising teams and developing people.
- Strong knowledge of work management, maintenance, construction, and turnaround (TAR) processes, including planning and scheduling.
- Demonstrated experience with Safe Control of Work, Asset Risk Management, budgeting, cost control, and contractor management.
- Strong SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) experience, with the ability to develop and optimize maintenance plans and strategies.
- PMP, CMRP, trade certification, or other relevant maintenance, project management, or technical certification is considered an asset.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
