About this role
Job Background/context:
This role will lead the European Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Corporate Banking team covering top tier financial institutions, including banks and broker-dealers, insurance and reinsurance, asset managers, private equity and alternative investment funds, specialty finance, FinTech's, and market infrastructure. This individual will lead a senior team across all major countries in Europe.
Location
- Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid.
- Will consider alternative European locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant Financial Institutions Group experience.
- Define a holistic business strategy for the European FIG Corporate Banking business that reflects the changing economic and regulatory landscape in Europe. Create a shared understanding with products and risk management on objectives and ways to achieve them to maximise sustained growth of the business.
- In-depth experience managing and working across a diverse, multi-country, multi-product business with broad people management experience.
- Work with Independent Risk to manage the portfolio and individual client risk and achieve targeted risk-adjusted returns.
- Originate business opportunities leveraging the entire product portfolio.
- Work with product partners across Markets, Investment Banking, Services and the Private Bank to structure viable and replicable client solutions that are cost effective and scalable.
- Demonstrated ability to balance between internal management and external client time.
- Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership skills and intellectual capability to create momentum and a collective agenda across multiple products with a diverse population and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated intellectual grasp of the industry and ability to anticipate and lead the organizational response to future changes and translate vision into executable plans.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately.
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Develop industry/segment specialization as appropriate and drive thought leadership and content.
- Represent the Bank and the FIG franchise at public forums and serve as speaker and subject matter expert at such forums.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Master's/MBA degree preferred from a top economics, business, or financial engineering program.
- Senior Credit Officer or equivalent designation preferred.
This Role is a “Controlled Function” Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015.
