Position Overview:

YORK1 is seeking a reliable and safety-focused CCTV Operator to support sewer inspection and infrastructure projects across Ontario. The CCTV Operator is responsible for operating robotic CCTV inspection equipment to assess sewer lines, accurately documenting findings, and supporting project activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards.

The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a field team and must be comfortable working in a variety of outdoor and job-site environments.

Licence/Certification:

- NASSCO Certified Inspector (required)

- Valid Class G Driver’s Licence (required)

Union Requirement: Successful candidates who are not currently members of the applicable union will be required to register with the union as a condition of employment in this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform robotic telemonitoring inspections of sewer lines in accordance with NASSCO standards.

- Operate, monitor, and maintain robotic CCTV inspection equipment and related technology.

- Conduct sewer inspections and accurately document and record inspection findings.

- Identify and report defects, blockages, structural concerns, and other conditions observed during inspections.

- Ensure CCTV inspection footage and project documentation are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.

- Assist with sewer cleaning and other field activities as required to support project completion.

- Conduct equipment checks and identify maintenance or operational issues.

- Follow project-specific procedures, safety requirements, and applicable legislation and regulations.

- Participate in required safety training, including OSHA-related training and courses.

- Communicate professionally with team members, supervisors, clients, and members of the public.

- Assist with public notification activities, including distributing project information and flyers to residents and businesses.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and ensure equipment is properly secured and maintained.

- Be prepared to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.

- Travel to project locations as required.

- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Valid Class G Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record.

- NASSCO Certified Inspector designation required.

- Previous experience operating and maintaining CCTV sewer inspection equipment.

- Knowledge of sewer inspection processes and NASSCO standards.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection findings.

- Ability to interpret and record information displayed through CCTV inspection systems.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a field team.

- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather and site conditions.

- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and working for extended periods.

- Willingness to participate in required training and certifications.

- CCTV inspections completed accurately and in accordance with NASSCO standards.

- Inspections and assigned project activities completed within established timelines.

- Inspection footage, reports, coding, and project documentation completed accurately and on time.

- CCTV equipment is properly operated, maintained, inspected, and reported on.

- Consistent compliance with YORK1 and site-specific safety requirements with a strong focus on preventing incidents and injuries.

- Effective cooperation with sewer cleaning crews and other field personnel to keep projects moving efficiently.

- Consistent attendance, punctuality, and readiness for scheduled field assignments.

- Professional and respectful communication with clients, residents, businesses, and members of the public.
