We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Project Manager to lead the delivery and commissioning of large-scale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects in Somerset, NJ. This role oversees all phases of project execution, from design review and procurement through construction, startup, integrated systems testing (IST), commissioning, and final turnover. The ideal candidate will ensure critical systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet the highest standards of reliability and operational performance.
Position Summary:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale data center construction projects, overseeing customer fit-out, MEP systems, commissioning, and turnover activities. Responsible for managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, procurement, risk, and contractor performance while serving as the primary liaison between clients, design teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage data center construction projects from design through commissioning and closeout.
- Oversee MEP systems, power distribution, cooling infrastructure, fire protection, controls, security, and critical facility operations.
- Coordinate customers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and commissioning teams to meet project objectives.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, procurement, change orders, risks, and project milestones.
- Lead technical reviews, field execution, commissioning, quality control, and project turnover activities.
- Manage long-lead equipment procurement and ensure compliance with project standards and operational requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 7+ years of construction project management experience, including data center or mission-critical facilities.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning, project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Experience managing contractors, consultants, procurement, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Procore, AutoCAD, or similar project management tools.
- Data center, hyperscale, or mission-critical facility experience preferred. PMP, CCM, PE, or similar certifications are a plus.

The salary range for this full-time role is $120,200.00-$181,733.36 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
