Job Summary
The General Clerk I is an entry‑level administrative support role responsible for performing routine clerical and office tasks to support daily operations. Key Responsibilities
Clerical & Administrative Support
Perform routine clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, copying, scanning, and document distribution
Process basic forms, records, or transactions in accordance with established procedures
Maintain organized physical and electronic files and records
Assist with preparation of standard documents, reports, or correspondence
Data Entry & Record Maintenance
Enter information accurately into systems, databases, or spreadsheets
Verify data for completeness and correctness
Update records and logs as required
Identify and report data discrepancies or missing information
Communication & Customer Support
Respond to routine internal or external inquiries by phone, email, or in person
Route questions or requests to appropriate personnel
Provide courteous and professional service to coworkers and visitors
Follow privacy, confidentiality, and information‑handling guidelines
Office Operations & Workflow Support
Support daily office operations such as mail handling, supplies organization, and scheduling assistance
Follow established workflows and administrative procedures
Assist with special clerical projects or tasks as assigned
Learning & Professional Development
Learn office systems, forms, and administrative procedures
Develop basic knowledge of department operations and policies
Participate in training or on‑the‑job learning opportunities
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Entry‑level position; prior clerical, administrative, retail, or customer service experience is helpful but not required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic clerical and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to follow instructions and standard procedures
Basic proficiency with office equipment and standard software (email, word processing, spreadsheets)
Good written and verbal communication skills
