Director, Repair Station Operations
Purpose
The Director, Repair Station Operations is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational performance of the Companys Part 145 Repair Station and associated Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and Component Repair and Overhaul (CRO) activities. This position provides leadership and oversight of personnel, business processes, customer relationships, facilities, operational performance, and financial results within established Company objectives and approved budgets. The Director works collaboratively across functional areas to support safe, compliant, efficient, and financially sustainable Repair Station operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily Repair Station, MRO, and CRO activities to ensure operational, customer, quality, and financial objectives are achieved.
- Monitor Repair Station financial performance, including revenue, expenses, profitability, and key operational metrics, and identify opportunities to improve results.
- Support development of annual operating budgets and forecasts and manage Repair Station operations within approved financial and resource parameters.
- Monitor processes supporting timely and accurate billing and invoicing and coordinate with appropriate departments to resolve issues.
- Evaluate staffing requirements and workforce needs based on workload, customer requirements, operational demands, and approved staffing levels.
- Provide leadership and oversight to Repair Station management and personnel, including performance management, employee development, staffing and workforce effectiveness.
- Ensure MRO and CRO operations are supported by appropriately qualified and trained personnel.
- Establish, monitor and evaluate key performance indicators for MRO and CRO operations and implement corrective actions and process improvements as necessary.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and financial performance.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for Repair Station customers and participate in customer meetings, business reviews, and other engagements as required.
- Develop and maintain effective cross-functional relationships to support Repair Station operations and resolve operational issues.
- Coordinate facility maintenance, improvements, and equipment needs necessary to support Repair Station operations.
- Ensure facilities and equipment are maintained in a safe, professional, and serviceable condition to support operations, inspections and customer visits.
- Promote safe, professional, and inclusive work environment and reinforce accountability for Company safety policies and practices.
- Collaborate with Quality and other designated personnel to support compliance with applicable requirements of 14 CFR Part 145, Company manuals, Repair Station procedures, customer requirements, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with applicable 14 CFR Part 119 management personnel when Repair Station activities support Company air carrier operations.
- Support business development and revenue generating activities by providing operational expertise, resource requirements, and feasibility assessments for prospective opportunities.
- Delegate assigned duties to qualified personnel as appropriate while maintaining accountability for ensuring assigned functions are effectively performed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of aviation maintenance, Repair Station, and MRO/CRO operations.
- Working knowledge of applicable 14 CFR Part 145 requirements and aviation regulatory standards.
- Strong understanding of operational budgeting, cost control, financial performance, and business metrics.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to develop employees and effectively lead through supervisors and managers.
- Ability to analyze operational and financial performance, identify trends and issues, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Ability to establish and monitor key performance indicators and use performance data to improve operational results.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree in business, aviation, engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in aviation maintenance, MRO/CRO operations, aviation program management, or a related aviation environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with responsibility for managing teams and operational performance.
- Demonstrated experience managing operational budgets, costs, financial performance, and key performance metrics.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with maintenance management and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance, as required.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role within a 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station.
- Experience managing MRO and/or component repair and overhaul operations.
- Experience working with commercial and/or government customers or contracts.
- Experience supporting business development or other revenue-generating activities.
- Experience leading teams through subordinate supervisors or managers.
- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and other enterprise business systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing office-based work.
- Ability to move throughout office, hangar, shop, and maintenance environments as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and other stakeholders in person and through electronic communication.
- Ability to travel up to 10% as required to support customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and other business activities.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a combination of office, hangar, shop, and maintenance environments.
- May occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, elevated noise levels, moving equipment, and other conditions typical of an aviation maintenance environment.
- May be required to work extended hours, nights, weekends, or other non-standard schedules based on operational and business needs.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when working in designated operational or maintenance areas.
