Job Overview
The Fabricator/Welder will be responsible for constructing items by cutting, shaping, and assembling various materials. The Fabricator/Welder will work with blueprints and specifications, using hand and power tools, and sometimes heavy machinery, to create products according to design.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assemble and fabricate metal parts according to blueprints, schematics, and work orders
- Perform welding tasks, using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Operate various tools and equipment such as forklifts, press brake machines, and pipe threading machines
- Rig and move heavy materials and equipment as needed
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Ensure all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of previous experience in metal fabrication and welding is desired
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes
- Proficiency in reading and interpretating blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Familiarity with operating forklifts, overhead cranes, metal shear, and ironwork
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively
- Knowledge of various welding techniques with carbon steel and stainless steel
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Ability to pass welding test as well as OSHA Safety training test
- AWS Welder Certification is preferred
