Plant Operator / Operations Technician
ROLE SYNOPSIS:
The Plant Operator / Operations Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of Permian Midstream CDP and associated facilities. This role executes day-to-day plant operations, responds to abnormal conditions, performs field rounds, applies control of work processes, and supports maintenance, startup, shutdown, and emergency
response activities. Operators are accountable for maintaining operational discipline, protecting people and the environment, and ensuring facilities operate within design and regulatory limits.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Operate and monitor CDP facilities, compression, inlet, processing, tankage, and utilities
• Perform field rounds, inspections, and verification activities
• Identify abnormal conditions and take timely, disciplined action
• Execute startup, shutdown, and normal operating procedures
• Apply Control of Work processes (energy isolation, permits, task risk assessments)
• Comply with PSM, DOT, OMS, and environmental requirements
• Use BPX systems including DeltaV, ARC, SAP, Power Apps, and verification tools
• Maintain accurate operational, production, and environmental documentation
• Participate in incident response, investigations, and learning reviews
• Respond to equipment upsets, alarms, and emergency conditions
• Isolate, verify, and return equipment to service safely
• Coordinate with board operators, maintenance, engineering, and contractors
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years experience in oil & gas, midstream, or industrial operations (preferred)
• Demonstrated understanding of process safety and operational risk
• Ability to read and apply P&IDs and operating procedures
• Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational discipline
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with compressors, pumps, valves, and process equipment
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• CDP or gas processing experience
• Delta V operating platform experience
• Control room or board operations experience
• Technical certifications or prior midstream operator training
• Familiarity with PSM-regulated facilities

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Field-based role supporting Permian Midstream CDP and associated facilities
• Rotational 14/14 schedule
• Work includes central control room and field-based CDP facility responsibilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Lifting - Lift with 2 hands from floor to knuckles: 70 lbs x 2 (with 12 sec rest intervals between
lifts)
• Lifting - Lift with 2 hands from floor to waist: 70 lbs x 2 (with 12 sec rest intervals between lifts)
• Lifting - Lift with 2 hands from floor to shoulders: 35 lbs x 2 (with 12 sec rest intervals between
lifts)
• Repetitive Squatting - Repeat squats x 3 reps, self-paced, no hold time at end range
• Sustained Squatting - From standing, lower body into a functional squat position. Hold the squat
position for 30 seconds and then stand
• Kneeling - From standing, kneel on one knee, return to full standing and then kneel on opposite
knee. Repeat kneeling test x 3, each knee, self-paced but continuous
• Stooping and Twisting - From standing, perform alternate toe touches x 3 to each side, selfpaced but continuous. Test recipient should reach toward his/her toes on opposite side as far as
possible but actual touching of toes not required
• Ladder Climb Test - Climb up and down 8 rungs, self-paced
• Stair Climb - Climb up and down a total of 30 steps, self-paced
• Carrying - Carry with 1 hand at self-selected height: 70 lbs for a distance of 50 feet x 2; selfpaced and with a 60 second rest period between carry tests
• Pulling - Pull horizontally with hands placed between waist and mid-chest level to generate a
peak force of 120 lbs with two hands x 3
• Pushing - Push horizontally with hands placed between waist and mid-chest level to generate a
peak force of 120 lbs with two hands x 3
• Lifting - Lift with 2 hands from floor to crown: 35 lbs x 2 (with 12 sec rest intervals between lifts)

Orla, Permian Basin – Central Control Room & Field-Based CDP Facilities (rotational / fieldbased)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
How much do we pay (Base)?
$103,000 – $121,000
Note that the pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
