About this role

Help us make legal marketing worth watching.

A TV spot with an NFL player that pokes fun at the industry we work in. An original podcast conversation that becomes a standout social clip. An unexpected moment at a community event. Different productions. Different tools. The same job: find what makes people care and turn it into something worth watching. Richmond Vona is a personal injury law firm with a marketing team that operates like an in-house creative agency. We develop campaigns, produce original content, work directly with our founders, and are building a challenger brand with a distinct point of view. We’re looking for a Creative Video Producer to help us disrupt an industry that’s rarely known for great creative. You’ll bring ideas, help shape the direction with our team, and carry the work from planning through the final edit. Before you read further, watch some of our work:

These examples give you a feel for what we’re building. We want you to help take it further, bringing ideas we haven’t considered and experimenting with new ways to create content people choose to watch. The role You’ll be the marketing team’s dedicated video producer, responsible for shooting and editing content across Richmond Vona’s firm, founder, and podcast channels. Some projects call for a carefully lit interview with professional cameras and clean audio. Others call for quick thinking, an iPhone, and the ability to capture something as it happens. You should be comfortable with both—and know which approach serves the idea. You’ll work closely with our Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy, Marketing Project Manager and the broader team. Sometimes you’ll develop a concept together. Sometimes you’ll work from an established brief. We want someone who brings creative ideas, asks useful questions, takes direction well, and uses feedback to make the work stronger. This is a full-time role within an established organization, with a consistent weekday schedule (with occasional evening or weekend availability required), shared priorities, and production deadlines. It is fully in person at our downtown Buffalo office and includes shoots on location. What you’ll do

- Plan, shoot, and edit video for social media, brand campaigns, founder content, community initiatives, and other marketing projects.

- Contribute concepts, story angles, and formats that fit the brand and the audience.

- Set up and operate professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.

- Capture strong, spontaneous content using an iPhone or a run and gun production setup.

- Help produce/edit podcast episodes and cut compelling moments for social clips.

- Shape footage into effective edits through pacing, sound, captions, and visual storytelling.

- Help people feel comfortable on camera and capture natural, usable performances.

- Collaborate on briefs, incorporate feedback, and deliver finished work on schedule.

- Keep footage, project files, equipment, and production assets organized.

- Stay current with video formats and audience habits, bringing relevant ideas to the team.

What you bring Required

- Professional video production experience as part of an in-house brand or marketing team, a creative or marketing agency, or a newsroom/broadcast team. Freelance or independent filmmaking experience is welcome in addition to this background.

- A portfolio demonstrating strong shooting and editing, including content made for a brand, client, or audience.

- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or a comparable professional editing platform.

- Confidence working with professional cameras, lighting, and audio, along with the ability to create effective content on an iPhone.

- An understanding of short-form video: how to earn attention, establish context quickly, and keep a story moving.

- Experience working from briefs, responding to feedback, and managing deadlines within a team.

- Clear communication, reliable follow-through, and sound judgment when priorities change.

- Comfort working directly with colleagues, firm leadership, podcast guests, and community participants.

Nice to have

- Motion graphics, animation, or compositing skills in Adobe After Effects or similar software.

- Multicamera podcast production experience.

- Experience producing paid social creative, commercials, or founder-led content.
