About the job

Handle transportation of goods and equipment while maintaining strong attention to detail, independence, and a proactive approach to daily responsibilities.

Reports to: Traffic and Logistic Manager

Job Summary:
The Truck Driver plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods, equipment, and materials between our facilities, growers, and customers. In addition to transportation duties, the Truck Driver is responsible for hands-on tasks at unmanned warehouses, equipment handling, pallet inventory management, and clear communication of delivery confirmations. This role requires self sufficiency and a commitment to safety and accuracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Transportation & Delivery
• Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods, equipment, and pallets between company locations, growers, and customer sites.
• Ensure timely pickups and deliveries, adhering to assigned schedules.
• Follow proof-of-delivery protocols by confirming each delivery via text or email to the dispatcher
as required.
• Follow dispatcher instructions and use maps or navigation tools to locate destinations.
• Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle is in proper working order.
• Pick up and deliver goods and materials, verifying load accuracy and securing cargo.
• Confirm all deliveries with dispatch via text or email for proof of delivery.
• Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.

2. Unmanned Warehouse Operations
• Independently manage tasks at unmanned warehouse locations, including:

- Loading and unloading trucks.

- Conducting routine inventory checks and reporting discrepancies.

- Taking product or material samples when required.

- Restacking pallets and maintaining organized storage areas.

- Sweeping and performing general cleaning to maintain facility cleanliness and safety.

3. Equipment Hauling & Handling

• Haul equipment and rolling stock such as forklifts, racks, and other large equipment on a weekly
to monthly basis.
• Assist with the loading, securing, and unloading of specialized equipment.
• Ensure proper handling to prevent damage during transport.

4. Grower Pallet Management
• Track and record sorted pallet counts in the yard.
• Communicate with growers during pickups to confirm and arrange for pallet returns.
• Report discrepancies or issues with pallet inventory to warehouse or dispatch teams.

5. Vehicle Maintenance & Documentation
• Responsible for routine vehicle maintenance.
• Complete all trip documentation and delivery paperwork with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Follow all safe work practices, company processes, and policies at all times.

6. Communication & Reporting
• Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch, warehouse teams, and other
departments.
• Promptly report delivery confirmations, delays, issues, or vehicle concerns.
• Use provided systems or protocols to log activities, deliveries, and equipment moves.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma.
• Valid CDL and clean driving record.
• Valid certification to operate forklifts.
• Strong verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization skills and follow-up skills with attention to
detail.
• 1+ years of similar experience in increasingly responsible roles.
• Traffic laws/DOT regulations/driving knowledge
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to make calculations.
• Dependable.
• Ability to work overtime hours as needed.
