Job Description Summary
Leads Transamerica’s enterprise physical security, workplace safety, Security Command Center, travel security, and executive protection programs, safeguarding employees, executives, facilities, and business operations through a risk-based and service-oriented approach. This role oversees security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, executive protection, and enterprise security procedures.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead Transamerica’s enterprise physical security, workplace safety, and facility security programs across office locations.
- Oversee building security operations, including access control, visitor management, security procedures, and vendor performance.
- Develop and maintain physical security policies, standards, incident response protocols, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Direct integration of the Security Command Center, ensuring effective monitoring, incident triage, escalation, communication, and operational excellence.
- Drive the modernization and optimization of security technologies, including access control, video surveillance, alarm monitoring, and mass notification systems.
- Lead executive protection, threat intelligence, travel security, event security, and threat assessment programs for senior leaders and enterprise events.
- Provide security planning and risk management support for executive events, leadership meetings, investor engagements, and other high-profile activities.
- Lead response efforts for security incidents, workplace violence concerns, investigations, emergencies, crises, and business continuity events.
- Partner with Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, Real Estate, Communications, and business leaders to address security risks, workplace safety, and resiliency needs.
- Establish governance, reporting, budgeting, training, and continuous improvement practices to enhance program effectiveness, manage risk, and strengthen security awareness across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business, Public Administration, Risk Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 12 + years of progressive experience in corporate security, law enforcement, executive protection, military, intelligence, emergency management, or a related security function
- 10 + years of leadership experience managing teams, vendors, programs, or complex security operations
- Demonstrated experience leading physical security operations in a multi-site corporate environment
- Experience with executive protection, protective intelligence, event security, secure transportation, or travel risk management
- Experience managing or supporting a Security Operations Center, Security Command Center, GSOC, emergency communications center, or similar 24/7 monitoring and response function
- Strong knowledge of access control, video management, alarm monitoring, visitor management, mass notification, incident management, and security technology platforms
- Demonstrated ability to respond to incidents, lead under pressure, coordinate across functions, and communicate clearly with senior leaders
- Experience managing third-party security vendors, guard force providers, technology integrators, and external partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive briefings, incident summaries, policies, and after-action reports
- High integrity, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, insurance, highly regulated industries, or large public-company environments
- Experience building, modernizing, or scaling a Security Command Center or GSOC operating model
- Experience with workplace violence prevention, threat assessment, behavioral threat management, and protective intelligence programs
- Experience supporting senior executives, Boards, investor events, leadership meetings, or high-profile corporate gatherings
- Knowledge of business continuity, crisis management, emergency action planning, travel security, and duty of care programs
- Professional certification such as CPP, PSP, PCI, CFE, CBCP, ICS/NIMS, or recognized executive protection credentials
Working Conditions
- Office environment 4-5 days a week
- Expected onsite presence to support building security operations, executive protection planning, Security Command Center coordination, and incident response
- Ability to respond to urgent security matters outside normal business hours as needed
- Role may require handling highly sensitive, confidential, or privileged information
- Occasional travel (<10%)
- Overnight domestic travel may be required to support site assessments, executive protection, events, security operations, vendor reviews, and incident response
Compensation
- The Salary for this position generally ranges between $200,000 - $270,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
- Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
