BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our THAAD Quality Team. The successful candidate will serve as strong voice for Quality in support of THAAD Ramp to Rate effort, ensuring production requirements are maintained and supported throughout factory expansion efforts a crossed multiple BAE Systems locations. Through an organized, methodical manner, the successful candidate will influence the adoption of best practices to gain efficiencies throughout the Quality Assurance Visual Mechanical Inspection (QAVMI) and Product Acceptance processes. This person will meet customer, quality, and manufacturing requirements ensuring successful acceptance of the THAAD product. This position will be responsible for leading efforts for the Quality function as it relates to QAVMI and Product Acceptance inclusive of coordination with the factory, shipping, as well as training of new staff in support of expansion.
THAAD Product Acceptance/QAVMI Manager will typically fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Quality Planning & Execution: Achieve program product acceptance delivery schedule to meet the acceleration efforts with increasing quantities up to and including quadruple current rates per month
- Requirements Validation : Ensure internal and external product requirements are understood, and executed against to ensure compliant products are delivered on time
- Process Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Ensure compliance to program delivery requirements, quality metrics, and best practices across programs to facilitate a culture of continuous improvement.
- Risk & Opportunity Support: Provide inputs to technical risk and opportunity management for the purposes of product acceptance
- Mentorship : Mentor team members in quality assurance, processes, and regulatory requirements, and efficient product acceptance practices.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of expereince
- Currently possesses Department of War (DoW) Secret security clearance
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with dynamic team and stakeholders and provide constructive feedback
- Ability to influence team and peer functions to achieve successful Product Acceptance
- Strong problem solving and risk management skills leveraged to ensure that the solutions meet the needs of the business and the warfighter
- Experience in Product Acceptance/QAVMI process and can bring best practices forward
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Proficient in requirement management tools
- Capable of hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment
- Knowledge of military/aerospace standards
- Familiarity with Quality Sciences (8D/RCCA and Lean Six Sigma methodologies) and AS9100/ISO 9001 standards
- Experience in aerospace and defense industry
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
