What will you do?

This is an opportunity for a highly organized, technology-oriented lawyer to support U.S. litigation and Labor & Employment matters from Monterrey. Working under the supervision of U.S. and regional attorneys, you will manage process-driven legal operations, matter administration, reporting, document coordination, and selected legal support activities. The role will partner with in-house counsel, business teams, outside counsel, insurers, vendors, IT, Human Resources, and Finance. As the role develops, it may expand to provide broader support to the U.S. legal team in handling disputes.

How will you do it?

Matter intake, administration, and coordination

- Manage intake and lifecycle coordination for insured litigation matters, including reviewing service of process and related mail, opening and closing matters, maintaining status information, and supporting assignment workflows.
- Coordinate recurring insured litigation meetings with internal and external stakeholders, maintain calendars, schedule meetings, and track follow-up items.
- Maintain trackers for affirmative claims, settlements, class actions, and other litigations portfolios, including matter assignment spreadsheets.
- Coordinate settlement signatura workflows and outside counsel file transfers.
- Support class action administration, including mail routing to designated counsel, tracker updates, quarterly meeting support, and document gathering.

Labor & Employment operational support

- Coordinate the collection of departing employee hardware in partnership with the relevant internal teams.
- Prepare employee retention, data exfiltration, and restrictive covenant letters using approved templates and attorney guidance.
- Perform employee information lookups and support document formatting, signature requests, scheduling, and other matter administration.

Legal Tracker, reporting, and financial operations

- Open, close, maintain, and upload documents to Legal Tracker for Litigation and Labor & Employment matters, with attention to data quality and timeliness.
- Prepare Legal Tracker reports and analytics and support the preparation and tracking of reporting.
- Run quarterly reports and confirms report accuracy before escalation or submission.
- Coordinate invoice review workflows, follow up on invoice status, maintain timekeeper information, and support improvements to Legal Tracker invoice review processes.
- Support vendor onboarding and law firms setup requests.

Records, mail, and documents management

- Review and route legal service, mail, and new-matter notices to the appropriate legal owner.
- Coordinate searches and records requests and assists with document gathering and organization.
- Process lien matters, including vendor legitimacy confirmation and support for creditor payment redirection, under attorney supervision and approved procedures.
- Maintain organized electronic matters files and support documents production, signature, and formatting workflows.

Process improvement and broader legal support

- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, controls, and user experience across matter management, reporting, invoice review, and administrative workflows.
- Use available technology effectively, maintain clear process documentation, and support consistent execution of standard operating procedures.
- Provide additional support to the U.S. Litigation and Labor & Employment teams as assigned, with responsibilities expanding over time based on capability and business need.

What are we looking for?

- Law degree and license or professional authorization to practice law in Mexico, as applicable.
- Typically 10 years of post-graduate legal experience. Experience supporting litigation, Labor & Employment, insurance matters, legal operations, or a corporate legal department is preferred.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, with professional fluency in Spanish and the ability to support U.S - based stakeholders.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and use of AI.
- High comfort with technology and data.
- Ability to apply sound judgment, recognize when an issue requires attorney escalation, handle confidencial and privileged information, and work within defined procedures and approval protocols.
- Proactive, service-oriented, and comfortable working across functions, cultures, and time zones.
- Analytical and process-improvement mindset, with the ability to identify root causes, improve workflows, and maintain accurate records.
