SUMMARY
The General Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall success of one or more assigned client accounts. This position owns the client relationship, business performance, profitability, service delivery, and growth strategy, ensuring exceptional outcomes for both the client and the organization.
Working closely with clients, operational leaders, and shared services teams, the General Manager provides strategic leadership to drive operational excellence, financial performance, innovation, and continuous improvement across the portfolio. The role serves as the primary point of escalation for the client, builds trusted executive-level relationships, and identifies opportunities to expand services and create additional value.
The successful candidate is an experienced business leader with strong commercial acumen, a track record of managing complex portfolios, and the ability to lead high-performing teams. They are skilled at influencing stakeholders, navigating change, and delivering results in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall account strategy, financial performance, and operational delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior and executive-level client stakeholders.
- Drive account growth through strategic planning, business development, and service expansion opportunities.
- Ensure contractual obligations, service commitments, and performance targets are consistently achieved.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and exceptional client service.
- Lead, develop, and engage a high-performing team while promoting a safe, inclusive, and accountable workplace.
Qualifications
- Post Secondary degree or diploma; MBA is considered an asset.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in account management, facilities portfolio management, operations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success managing financial performance, client relationships, and business growth.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to influence executive-level audiences and drive results through collaboration.
