About this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate sandblasting and abrasive blasting equipment safely and efficiently
- Prepare steel and other metal surfaces for coating or painting
- Remove rust, paint, scale, dirt, and other surface contaminants
- Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met
- Set up and maintain blasting equipment, hoses, nozzles, and related tools
- Follow all A.H. Beck safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
- Assist with other yard and shop duties as needed
- Work Saturdays as needed
Requirements:
- Previous sandblasting or abrasive blasting experience preferred
- Experience with operating equipment such as skid steers, loaders, and telehandlers is a plus
- Basic knowledge of industrial air compressors
- Ability to safely operate blasting equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Ability to work outdoors and in dusty/heavy industrial environments
- Ability to lift and move materials as required
- Must be safety-minded and willing to follow company procedures
