About this role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will have strong experience in design assurance and quality engineering to support global product development. You will combine deep electrical engineering knowledge with expertise in risk assessment, design verification, failure analysis, corrective action, and cross-functional quality leadership across the product lifecycle. You will partner cross-functionally with engineering, R&D, manufacturing, sourcing, and regulatory/compliance teams to identify risks early, implement robust controls, and ensure new products meet customer, business, and applicable quality requirements.
You will play a key role in design quality planning and strategy, risk management, design reviews, and verification and validation support.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as quality & electrical systems subject matter expert on cross-functional new product development teams.
- Ensure quality requirements are integrated throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support design control and phase-gate / NPD processes from concept through commercialization.
- Develop, deploy, coach, and maintain best practice quality planning tools and methods including: Design quality plans which clearly define expectations
- Control plans that focus on prevention vs. detection
- Inspection/test strategies: optimizing automation, prevention, zero defect mentality
- Ensure effective risk management activities: DFMEA, PFMEA, hazard analysis, FRACA, and mitigation tracking.
- Subject matter expert in product, electrical systems, and process design reviews to ensure quality and reliability considerations are addressed and properly resolved.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively review and challenge specifications, drawings, requirements, and engineering changes to drive quality into design and minimize downstream inspection, service, and manufacturing cost.
- Develop and implement verification and validation techniques to ensure NPD products meet critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements.
- Ensure traceability between customer requirements, design inputs, test methods, and acceptance criteria.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Manufacturing and Supplier Quality teams to support effective design transfer and production readiness.
- Establishing disciplined problem-solving efforts that identify root cause and implement effective corrective and preventive actions within development and product launch.
- Monitor quality metrics during development builds, pilot runs, and launch phases.
- Support nonconformance management, deviation assessments, and change control activities during development.
- Ensure compliance with applicable internal procedures, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Contribute to and maintain an effective tracking system for lessons learned and continuous improvement of NPD quality processes.
- Ensure effective & efficient use of NPD project management system in alignment with APQP requirements and deliverables.
- Apply statistical methodologies to drive quality into product and process design.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in quality engineering, design assurance, new product development and well-established NPD systems.
- Experience with electronic design, power systems, embedded systems, firmware-hardware interactions, and controls
- Strong working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies as abovementioned.
- Experience participating in complex matrix, cross-functional product development environments.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical requirements, and evaluate electrical design robustness and failure mechanisms.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Effective English written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated or highly controlled industries (i.e.- aerospace, automotive, medical).
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, design controls, and product lifecycle management processes.
- Familiarity with reliability engineering and qualification testing.
- Experience with supplier quality integration during product development.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification.
- Experience using quality and product data systems such as Minitab, PLM, ERP, or QMS platforms.

The Salary range for this position is $95,600.00 - $153,900.00
