Position Objective
WC Health is seeking a reliable and compassionate Part-Time Weekend Support Staff member to provide supervision, support, and assistance to individuals residing in our behavioral health transitional housing program.
The Support Staff member will primarily work Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and will assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents. Responsibilities include monitoring residents, responding appropriately to emergencies and behavioral health concerns, completing required documentation, assisting with daily housing operations, and preparing the facility for the incoming shift.
This position may also be asked to work additional hours when coverage is needed , including covering staff call-outs or other staffing needs.
The successful candidate must be dependable, able to work independently, communicate effectively, maintain professional boundaries, and demonstrate patience and compassion when working with individuals who may have behavioral health needs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Monitor the facility and residents to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all residents.
- Conduct routine checks of the facility and common areas throughout the shift.
- Monitor resident activity and report safety concerns, behavioral concerns, or changes in condition to the appropriate supervisor.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral health concerns, emergencies, and other incidents while following WC Health policies and procedures.
- Contact emergency medical services or other appropriate emergency resources when necessary.
- Complete resident admissions and discharges when assigned and update the census accordingly.
- Complete all required shift documentation, including shift reports, incident reports, and other required electronic documentation.
- Maintain accurate records regarding resident activity, incidents, and significant events during the shift.
- Prepare and organize meals, snacks, and/or other approved food items as assigned.
- Complete light housekeeping duties, including:
Laundry
- Making beds
- Cleaning and sanitizing common areas
- Cleaning and sanitizing rooms as needed
- Removing trash
- Maintaining an organized and sanitary environment
- Monitor and maintain inventory of groceries, cleaning supplies, household supplies, and other program materials.
- Notify the appropriate supervisor when supplies are low or additional supplies are needed.
- Assist with maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility.
- Complete all assigned duties before the end of the shift.
- Provide appropriate information and updates to the incoming shift during shift change.
- Maintain professional, respectful, and supportive interactions with residents, coworkers, supervisors, and visitors.
- Protect resident confidentiality and follow all applicable privacy and organizational requirements.
- Follow all WC Health policies, procedures, safety standards, and behavioral health protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager, Housing Supervisor, or other designated leadership.
Weekend Morning Shift Expectations
This position is primarily scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM .
The Support Staff member must:
- Report to work on time and be prepared to begin duties at 6:00 AM .
- Remain alert, attentive, and actively engaged throughout the entire shift.
- Provide appropriate supervision and support to residents.
- Complete required rounds, checks, documentation, and assigned duties throughout the shift.
- Assist with morning operations, resident needs, housekeeping, meals, and other daily housing activities.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to resident needs, safety concerns, and emergencies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Provide a thorough shift-to-shift handoff regarding incidents, concerns, resident needs, or outstanding tasks.
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
Schedule, Additional Hours & Transportation Requirements
- Part-time position
- $15.00 per hour
- Regular schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
- Additional hours may be available or required based on program needs, including staff call-outs, staffing shortages, or other operational needs.
- Must be willing and available to accept additional shifts when reasonably needed and when scheduled by management.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to either of WC Health's two assigned housing locations.
- Staff may be assigned to either location based on staffing coverage, call-outs, scheduling, and operational needs.
- The ability to travel between the two WC Health locations when directed is an essential function of this position.
- Employees are responsible for ensuring reliable transportation to and from their assigned work location(s).
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and flexibility are essential functions of this position.
Education and Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations.
- Ability to complete required documentation accurately and timely.
- Reliable transportation and ability to report to and work at either of WC Health's two assigned locations.
- Ability and willingness to travel between locations as needed for staffing and operational coverage.
Preferred:
- One year of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, residential services, supportive housing, social services, or a related field.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral health challenges.
- Experience working in a residential or transitional housing environment.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
The position requires the ability to:
- Remain alert and actively monitor the facility for the duration of the shift.
- Frequently walk throughout the facility and perform routine checks.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform light housekeeping duties.
- Lift and carry light household or program supplies as needed.
- Work in a residential behavioral health environment.
- Travel between WC Health's assigned locations as required.
- Respond appropriately during emergencies and other unexpected situations.
