The Chemical Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing chemical treatment and corrosion control programs that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role provides technical expertise in production chemistry, corrosion management, facility treatment systems, and process optimization while working closely with operations, laboratories, and service providers to improve performance and reduce operating costs.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

- Design, manage, and implement chemical treatment and corrosion control strategies, including chemical treatment, corrosion monitoring and inspection activities, as well as the preparation and delivery of reports and the identification and assessment of significant trends.
- Provide technical assessment and interpretation of chemical treatment monitoring data and recommend changes to corrosion criticality analyses and monitoring/inspection programs (chemical treatment, reservoir souring, corrosion, materials, coating applications, and cathodic protection). Utilize NACE, EPTC, API, ASTM, AISI, AWS, SSCP, and other Oil & Gas industry standards.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for water, oil, and gas treatment facilities and chemical treatment services in El Trapial Field to improve Operational Excellence (OE), production, reliability, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Follow up on contractor performance through daily field visits and maintain ongoing interaction with Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Laboratory, and chemical service provider personnel.
- Lead OE execution in the field, with a strong focus on safety, ensuring every activity is performed in accordance with process safety and HSE standards.
- Prepare forecasts and perform monthly tracking of operating costs and facility improvements related to the transportation, dosing, and storage of chemical products in the field.
- Propose and lead medium- and long-term optimization initiatives focused on reliability, integrity, operational efficiency, and reduction of total treatment costs.
- Identify, evaluate, and propose new technologies.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in chemical treatment and corrosion control strategies, including monitoring, inspection, and implementation activities.
- Experience assessing and interpreting chemical treatment monitoring data and recommending changes to corrosion control strategies.
- Intermediate level of English.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Advanced level of English.

Special Considerations:

- This position follows a 7x7 rotational schedule based in El Trapial Field.
- During the rotation, the selected candidate will stay at the Chevron Camp.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
