About the role
You'll be our first ops hire.
You own everything that isn't building the product or selling it.
Take it over. Do it properly. Do it on time.
Then turn it into systems that keep working as we 10x.
This role is about execution, before ideation.
If taking a messy area, putting a clean process around it, and running it without ever missing a deadline gives you energy, keep reading.
In this role, you will
Basically, if it's not code and not sales, it's yours.
* **Finance:** invoicing, collections, expenses, payroll and the monthly close with our accountant.
* **Legal & corporate:** contracts, NDAs, minute book, cap table, board resolutions. You're our point person with outside counsel.
* **Hiring:** postings, pipeline, offers, onboarding, benefits, equity grants. End to end.
* **Internal ops:** vendors, tools, office, plus customer contracts and billing logistics.
* **Systems:** trackers, processes and LLM automations. Build your own army of ops agents 🦸
* **Strategic projects:** we hand them to you, you own them end to end.
Who you'll work with and what we expect
You report directly to the CEO. Every day.
No layers. No waiting weeks for approvals. Decision-makers are one message away.
Your first 90 days:
1. **Day 30:** invoicing, collections, contracts and hiring logistics are off the founders' plates. Every recurring ops task is mapped.
2. **Day 60:** every recurring task has an owner, a deadline and a written process.
3. **Day 90:** the founders barely think about ops anymore. At least one workflow runs on its own.
You are
* **Hyper-organized.** Nothing falls through the cracks. Ever.
* **Deadline-proof.** Nobody who's worked with you ever had to follow up.
* **Process-obsessed.** You'd rather build a system once and run it perfectly than improvise every time.
* **An owner and a team player.** You own your domains fully, and the team winning matters more to you than credit.
Your background
Here's who we picture:
* A corporate or commercial lawyer, 3 to 8 years in, who left to start or join a company.
* A founder who ran ops for their own startup.
* An investment banking or consulting alum who moved into an operating role.
You've worked somewhere with high standards, where mistakes had real consequences. And you've owned something yourself.
Not so junior that you need direction on every task. Not so senior that you won't do the grunt work.
Bonus points if you know hedge funds, private equity or fund management. Or B2B software.
How you'll grow
From month one, you make the calls in your domains.
This is a founding role, so it grows with us.
If your systems scale, you'll build and lead the ops team, and grow into a broader leadership role like COO / VP Operations as we pass Series A and beyond.
How to stand out
Tell us about a system you built that still runs without you, or something complex you delivered on a tight deadline.
And what makes you different? Ran ops for your own company? Competed as an athlete? Tell us.
What working with us is like
Our values are simple: _think big, make it tight, and have fun._
Picture a finely tuned V12 engine. Every part in harmony. That's us.
We're a high-trust team. We love what we do, and who we do it with.
Compensation and location
Competitive salary + meaningful equity. You share in the upside. \[70k-140k cad with 60-200k worth of equity.\]
Based in Montreal. \[In the office in old Montreal, everyday\]
