F-16 Advanced Systems Instructor (F-16 Block 50+)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The F-16 Advanced Systems Instructor will be responsible for all theoretical classroom and on-aircraft practical instruction, when applicable. Requires extensive systems knowledge of the F-16, concentrating instructional efforts on theory of operation, wire repair, advanced troubleshooting, fault isolation and returning of aircraft to serviceable condition. The instructor will be required to develop and create courses designed to achieve all these benchmarks targeting the most experienced RAFO technicians. Minimum requirements will be 10+ years on F-16, verifiable instructor training and course development experience. Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification and/or aviation related degree preferred- not required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Knowledge of all F-16 systems, pneudraulic, engines, airframe, environmental, fuels, weapons and egress, with emphasis on a background of highly advanced Avionics/Electronics training and experience of how aircraft systems are integrated.

- Highly advanced knowledge and experience with the F-16 MIDAS Technical Order (TO) system. This includes reading schematics, wiring diagrams, fault reporting and isolation.

- Knowledge and application using Avionics and related test equipment, ohm meters, wire integrity testers, memory load verifiers (MLVs), loading of operational flight programs (OFPs), harness repair and removal/installation, matrix and system troubleshooting, alignment, calibration and boresight etc.

- Verifiable formal instructional experience, to include certificates of completion from military courses, Basic Instructor courses (BIC), Maintenance Instructor courses (MIC), or equivalent.

- Experience in the development and creation of maintenance instruction courses including, but not limited to: writing syllabi, course overviews and objectives, student prerequisites, target audiences, number of students per course, course credit and hours, formative and summative assessments and student evaluations.

- Will be responsible for teaching other RAFO instructional courses, as directed, to include F-16 familiarization courses for OJTs, flightline and aircraft safety courses, maintenance officer courses, TO and aircraft forms documentation courses.

- Performs all related instructor duties and liaise with Officer in Charge, Technical Training School (TTS) as directed by RAFO and/or Program Manager.

- Working knowledge of classroom technology, ability to load courses on tablets, electronic whiteboards, building and displaying power point presentations, etc. Ability to create and distribute computer-based (CBTs) or pdf-based testing.

- Ability to train, lead and mentor RAFO technicians and ability to provide understandable, relatable and comprehensive advanced F-16 Electronics training.

KNOWLEGE AND SKILLS:

- AFSC 2A374, 2A3X4 F-16 Block 50 Integrated Avionics, Electrician, Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Tradesman, or equivalent, highly experienced 7 skill level with working knowledge of all F-16 aircraft systems, emphasis on Avionics/Electronics.

- Verified and confirmed instructional training and experience in a classroom and practical environment. Certificates of Training will be required for review prior to acceptance of candidate.

- Self-motivated, highly skilled, highly advanced individual with knowledge of course development, assessment, feedback and formal evaluation of students in their charge.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum 10+ years required F-16 Blk 50 experience, preferably with an Avionics or Electronics related background

- Minimum 5 years required as a former Maintenance Instructor, A&P Instructor or Field Training Detachment (FTD) instructor, or equivalent

- Aviation-related degree from credible university preferred but might be waived in lieu of experience level.

- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred , or equivalent- Not Required. Might be waived, depending, in lieu of experience.

- Minimum required high school diploma, or equivalent

- This will be a highly skilled, self-motivating and challenging position. We are looking for someone with advanced knowledge and experience. Must have integrity, self-discipline and the capability to provide excellent in-depth training for current and future RAFO technicians.

Clearance Requirements:

- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

- Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.
- Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices.
- Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruised from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts in shop area.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
