About this role

At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology.

Cadence Design Systems is looking for recent bachelor’s graduates in Engineering to join the Physical System Design and Analysis (PSDA) Customer Service team through a cohort-based early career program. Positions are available in San Jose, CA or Livonia, MI.

As an integral member of the PSDA Customer Service team, you will work with industry-leading computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools used to simulate and analyze complex physical systems. You will collaborate with technical experts and customer-facing teams in a dynamic environment focused on helping customers solve challenging engineering problems. Through hands-on assignments, you will build practical experience in simulation workflows, application engineering, technical support, and professional services while developing the communication and problem-solving skills needed for a successful customer service career.

What opportunity is offered?
This full-time, entry-level position begins with a one-year, cohort-based development program for recent engineering graduates from across North America and consists of two six month rotations. The program combines structured learning, hands-on projects, mentoring, and rotational experiences across key Customer Service functions (technical sales, customer support, training, and services). Participants will learn from application engineers, technical support and professional services who use Cadence CAE simulation tools, coding and scripting, and the practical use of artificial intelligence to improve engineering and customer workflows.

After successfully completing the cohort program, participants will transition into a full-time role within a PSDA Customer Service group that uses Cadence CAE tools for simulation and analysis. Placement will be based on the participant’s skills and interests, business needs, and available opportunities across application engineering, technical support, and professional services.

This cohort-based program will offer experience in the following areas:

- Fundamentals of computer-aided engineering, physics-based simulation, and engineering analysis

- Hands-on use of Cadence CAE tools and workflows for physical system design and analysis

- Coding and scripting using languages such as Python to automate simulation, data processing, and reporting tasks

- Application engineering, including solution development, demonstrations, technical enablement, and customer collaboration

- Technical support, including problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, and effective customer communication

- Professional services, including project delivery, simulation best practices, and creation of customer-ready engineering outputs

- Practical applications of artificial intelligence in engineering analysis, workflow automation, knowledge management, and customer service

- Networking, mentoring, and participation in Cadence’s recent-graduate community
