Position Summary: The Bus Driver for the School Age Child Care program at the Southern Tier Community Center, will safely transport youth.

Responsibilities:

- Obey all traffic laws to ensure students arrive at their destination safely

- Always maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus

- Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety

- Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops

- Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals and mechanical equipment

- Follow the Office of Children and Families (OCFS) Transportation Policy of Children for School Aged Child Care

Requirements

Education:

- High School Diploma / GED required

Experience:

- 2 years of experience driving a school bus or commercial vehicle required

- Ability to relate and interact with youth and families in a positive manner required

- Commercial ​ Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required

- Pass DOT Physical required
