Job Description

We offer a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial training in-person, you could have the flexibility of work-from-home time as defined by the leadership team.

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking an experienced and motivated Instructional Developer professional to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. This position requires the following, but is not limited to:

- Assemble provided content into online learning using a variety of eLearning, prototyping, graphics software, and related technology.
- Collaborate with internal business users, IT, and subject matter experts to accurately develop visual design concepts including graphics and screen mock-ups.
- Using provided content, create storylines and storyboards for use in video creation.
- Record audio for videos using approved scripts.
- Assist in creating requested knowledge checkpoints to assess course learning effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot issues in learning management system.
- Proofread and edit scripts.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, other Instructional Developers, and Instructional Designers to ensure content created is accurate and satisfies the goals of the project.
- Apply current usability and user-centered design best practices when creating eLearning and similar materials to develop relevant and applicable training.
- Maintain punctual attendance according to an assigned work schedule at a Company approved work location.

Desired Skills and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, educational technology or related field of study; or several years’ related experience or training
- Experience in eLearning development, graphic design, video production preferred
- Strong levels of organization, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and teams.
- Ability to oversee and facilitate the completion of multiple projects at the same time.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate, in both oral and written formats, in a polite, clear, concise, and accurate way.
- Well versed in proper spelling and grammar.
